Combining ROTF Devastator Toys!

Recommended Posts

how is it theyve managed to make legends class sized constructicons that can transform between robot and vehicle AND combine to form devestator, but they cant do it with the full size ones???

and wheres overload in the full sized set?

Um so they can make Legends class figs that both tf and combine but they can't engineer full size constructicons that do the same? I call bs their holding back the truth about the full size figs or they are just totally lazy.

hahaha jinx

the supreme size set is only rumored to have no robot modes which would suck hopefully theese rumors are false but i think you hexed us like those guys from mad tv

It was confirmed...

Hmmm...I mean its interesting, but I can't seem to get to excited over it.

The people want.. no DEMAND a delux full robot/vehicle team combiner!

Thank Primus for that. :yay I might pick this up if it gets a domestic release. It's amazing how smaller size and less weight can help a design sometimes. The sheer size of the supreme made individual robots impossible, supposedly. These guys are so light that it's not an issue. The weight of the metal would actually take that advantage away from any attempt to scale these guys up. Certainly wouldn't help stress tolerances any.

Of course I'm not saying make the whole thing die cast. I just mean parts that would need to be stronger, like in the legs.

That would be the problem - diecast metal attached to plastic will put more stress on the plastic than an all-plastic figure would. I sold G1 Jetfire because I was afraid to play with him - felt like he was going to break every time I transformed him. Designs as complex as the movie bots would be just as bad with metal sections.

Some of those robot modes bare very little resemblance to the official movie bots. It's great that they did this, but I'm not sure this proves they could have pulled this off with bots that transform into Vehicles, movie accurate bots and Devastator (which isn't to say it can't be done).

Someone mentioned in another thread that one of the big reasons Hasbro gave for the two separate sets of movie Constructicons was they didn't think they could make them transform, combine, AND stay movie accurate.

Personally, I wouldn't mind giving up some movie accuracy to allow transformation and combination. They should produce a set of voyagers and deluxes that may not be as movie accurate but can transform and can combine. I wonder which set would do the best?

1) Supreme Devastator (no individual robot modes)

2) voyager and deluxe Constructicons (can't combine)

3) combining v and d sized Constructicons (not movie accurate)

Based on the responses in this thread, I would say #3...

Sacrifice movie accuracy? Hell the original Movie Screamer had in both movie and toy Desert colours. Look at the crying that he wasnt grey.

Oh yeah, none of the toys matched the movie characters cog for cog, including colors...but I think John is alluding to a complete re-engineering to make the voyager/deluxe figures combine, as well as transform individually. I think it's probably too late for that though, as these are already being produced, but...it would have been nice if they put some little design features in there & sprang on us last minute that they actually would combine! Don't worry, I'm not holding my breath...I'm just imagining...

well i guess aim your standards a bit lower, lol. this looks to be the best we're getting

^ Yeah, I totally think the real reason is money, making people buy two toys instead of one.

Precisely...now 3 different toys if Hasbro adopts this one... :roll

They are banking everything on this line so I am not surprised...

And it is sooooo gonna fail ;)

I too call shinannigans!! Why can't they do that with the voyager class??

I ... am totally going to get one but damn you Hasbro! Love and spite are mine. ^_^
