Red Scion as Ironhide

I'd also mention Bumblebee and Cliffjumper as *something* .. and I'd like to see Brawn as something too.. but nothing directly comes to mind.

 

The Scion just doesn't fit Ironhide's character because it is TOO small and definitely not rugged enough. Yes the original was a crappy mini-van but why get it wrong again 25 years later? Michael Bay definitely got it right on his alternate mode.

 

I really wish that HasTak would just release Trailbreaker as a black Jeep Wrangler already! The molds are already made and paid for and it would be a great exclusive for Comicon or Botcon. The marginal benefits definitely outweigh the marginal cost on this no-brainer.

 

Not to mention that 4 of the most popular characters that weren't made would only require 2 additional molds. Bumblebee/Cliffjumper and Ironhide/Ratchet would be great additions to restart the line. I think we would have gotten these characters in the Alternators/Binaltech line if Hastak didn't waste money on the Titanium line.

I'm more looking at Ironhide as a Scion as a pre-existing mold.. really, all they gotta do is recolor skids head red, it's not that far of a stretch. It's a no brainer. Considering they made blaster from this mold as well, I mean stranger things in Alternators (and binaltech) have happened. And also.. *points to Classics/Universe Ironhide .. did everyone forget about him? Not to nit pick, but movie Ironhide is not G1 Ironhide.. and vice versa. From what I understand going by tech specs, G1 Ironhide doesn't really even have a huge array of weaponry. He just has really thick skin that does him no good against megatron's fusion cannon apparently. Doopey van or not, I haven't ever seen G1 Ironhide do any real ass kicking. He's just a big armored cowboy if you ask me. Now Brawn, thats a total different story. I think you guys are getting a little confused.. :tflaugh

 

I guess you could always use that Ford Pickup they used for Prime.. even though I think that thing is the most hideous alternator in existance..

 

I'm not keen on convention exclusives though. No, Trailbreaker should be a full release.. only because I can't afford conventions. :tflaugh .. and hell, I would of taken him over Rollbar.. *could of even kept the name rollbar but paint it black like trailbreaker if naming was an issue.. but that orange jeep looks like crap. I don't even understand why they didn't use the oppurtunity to do it right when they had that released.

A repainted Swindle/Roll Bar with Shockblast left arm would have made a perfect Trailbreaker...

starscream as a f-22 raptor based of his IDW character design

megatron as an m1 abrams tank based somewhat off his g2 design

soundwave as a millitary humvee equipped with a surface to air missle launcher

lazerbeak as an mq-9 reaper millitary drone.

optimus as a red kenworth w900

bumblebee as a2005 yellow toyota echo

jazz as a white 1969 corvette stingray

ironhide as a red toyota scion(repaint of alternators skidz)

ratchet as a modern day U.S. ambulance

I'd make Bumblebee a Toyota Yaris - I drive one, and the look definitely fits him. But for Primus' sake, Cliffjumper should get his own mold for once. Or at least make him different from Bee. Heck, since his first toy was a SD Porsche, do a Jazz/Meister retool for him.

But Movie Ironhide is a much tougher and meaner looking vehicle. That's why I continue to say that Michael Bay got that part right. As for G1, most of the characters never really did anything "kick ass" so Ironhide is in the majority there.

Agreed, but the Dodge Ram is a much better looking Alternator if you "fix" his shortcomings. Altering the legs to allow full leg extension, removing the forearm seats and permanently attaching them to the cab area, and doing the shoulder mod can all make the Ram's bot mode look much better. I even took the removable fenders and attached them to his truck bed while in bot mode.

 

I remember after I made a custom Alternators Ironhide head for the Dodge Ram SRT, some said that they couldn't see Ironhide as a RED truck. The funny thing is, after a major marketing campaign and decent "popcorn flick" made by Michael Bay, many of those same people ate up the idea of Ironhide as a BLACK truck. I didn't need a movie or marketing to sell me on the idea because I always thought it was the best choice besides a Hummer.

I can understand your point but if Alternators came back I'm almost certain it wouldn't be a full release. Because of the cost of licensing with the major auto manufacturers, they would more than likely just be repaints of what they already made. With a slight possibility that we could see the Cadillac SLR Megatron that was more than likely next in the line.

 

 

 

We should get repaints of some Alternators that didn't have a repaint. My character choices for those Alts would be:

 

Perceptor - Scion xB

Frenzy - Honda Civic Si

Steeljaw - Jaguar XK

Hoist/Trailbreaker - Dodge Ram SRT (The Jeep Wrangler as Trailbreaker is cool but we have too many Jeeps as is.)

how about energon cliffjumper original mold no relation to bumblebee but for alternators bumblebee as a yaris then have cliffjumper as a toyota echo and all my other ideas the same thats what hasbro needs to make
