I'm expecting a lot of assorted figures from eBay, and among the goodies included are most of the G1 cassettes. As I'm aware of the flood of KO cassettes that have appeared in the market in recent years, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a few tell-tale signs of a KO and/or of a genuine G1 that I can look for. Any help is certainly appreciated. Thanks guys!

I dont think the KOs has diecast...

I got shnucked on a Ratbat and I know the difference on that figure is very floppy joints.

 

All the rest of my cassettes are vintage so I don't know about the rest.

 

also, look for a Has/Tak date stamp.

My KO spy cassettes have both Has/Tak stamps and diecast parts.

 

Differences to a genuine G1 release are the joints are a little looser and the stickers poorly cut in comparison. I gotta admit, My KOs are pretty damn good.

eBay was swarming with them a couple of years ago ... really decent quality, nice shiny chrome and rubsigns. The set in the picture cost me about £11 to import from Asia and has an authentic looking blister and card for Frenzy and Lazerbeak ... only problem is that the toys are Rumble and Buzzsaw. :tflaugh

Also, the rivets / pins on the KOs are flat while the originals are not...
