Please help~~What does "Five Servos of Doom" mean?

Recommended Posts

Hello, everyone, I'm a newcomer~~

I've watched episode 06 of TFA S3,and I just have two questions:

What does "Five Servos of Doom" mean?

And what does "Yoketron" mean(Exactly, what does "Yoke" mean?)?

Can anybody answer me? Thanks a lot~~~

I dont know what Yoke means but Five Servos of Doom is a type of Cybertronian martial art. It is apparently an advanced fighting style that Yoketron, Jazz and I think Prowl know.

lock down does too aparently at the end it is revealed he was one of yoketron's students and he knew all the maritial art types prowl used against him in the fight except he did'nt believe in processor over matter until he saw prowl use it twice probably why he left yoketron's teachings earlier on

He believed in it. He just said he never got the hang of it. Remember when Prowl escaped the booby trapped helmet and Lockdown said, "Processor over Matter huh? Never got the hang of that one." then chainsaw arm came out. So he didn't not believe in it is what I'm trying to say.

And "Yokotron" was an attempt to make a Transformer name sound like a Japanese name.

Not quite. Yoketron is a bit of a homage; According to TFWiki's triva of the character (Yoketron) He was named for lead Takara designer, Hideaki Yoke.

To add to that, Five Servos of Doom, while also being a reference to the above mentioned film, is not so much the name of a Martial Art, but rather, a specific attack. Particularly in Eastern Martial Arts tradition, it was common to name specific attacks, and in many Martial arts movies (and Anime), it was common to call out the attack as it was made.

I felt it was an homage to the classic Kung Fu "Five Deadly Venoms" film. Especially with Lockdown being a student who went down the wrong path, using the skills learned from the Master Yoketron, to do evil.

Also, in addition I think the title also is a little reference to "Five Faces of Darkness" from G1's Season three five part opener. At least thats what I thought when I read the episodes title....
