Step 2. Find bad toy.

 

Step 3. Hit bad toy.

 

Step 4. If done correctly, your sacrifice to the TF gods has fixed the magnet polarization. If not, start again at step 1.

Step 5. If it still doesn't work after destroying your entire collection, kitbash a new transformer. Then you will have done what the TF gods do on a regular basis, thus turning into a demi-god.

 

Step 6. Wish all of your toys were fixed, this destroying your kitbash and revoking your demi-god status.

 

step 7. Stop buying crappy toys. Stick to good ones that don't have easily fucked up gimmicks.

Actually if they invert the polarities then you can either open the bot or the head master and simply flip the magnet. It isn't that hard to turn a couple screws and flip a magnet over.
