I'm sick to death of hearing the scalper thing.

There are horders out there, yes, but most likely you can't find what you want due to shitty distribution, and the fact that you don't know how to pan for it.

I know when and where to look and for 15yrs have been getting figs as soon as they arrive in my area. I can set my watch by it.

Learn your territory or go online, just stop blaming a minor happening on the fact that you cant find what you want.

Oh, and screw the idea of shortening the return time, you'll hurt way more people than you think your helping here!

while there is a generous 90 day return policy --- the guy still has to shell out the cash. Perhaps little risk, but a lot of cash outlayed. Do you have that kinda money lay'n around to do that?? High inventory - cost high bucks. And in this economy, I am not sure as many people will likely be up to let'n that kinda cash out either.

 

Me personally, I fight it by simply not being so desperate. Wait for the stores to restock. Wait for the 90 day deadline and they return them all. PATIENCE is the answer - nothing more.

Yeah...I understand. It's just frustrating sometimes when you have a simple hobby and it should be as simple as walking into your favorite store, getting what you want and walking out. Instead it's drive around everywhere, shop on line and pay insane prices plus shipping and the whole kitt-and-caboodal. In my area there are 3 big time scalpers and literally, they come in, grab stuff and leave just as a new shipment makes it to the store. There's one Target in downey and another in OC that actually pervent this sort of problem by making all toys one per-customer.They sell enough to do that and not worry about losses. But anyhow...I can see where my idea maybe silly. Some of you who have been able to get what you want are very lucky. Here where I'm at it is bad!

This probably will not make you feel any better but... when I lived in Fullerton CA. it seemed like it was the last place on earth new Transformers showed up. I knew people all over the country that had new items before me. And I ALWAYS saw the scalpers & Hot Wheels guys out looking as they ran through the stores when they opened. I eventually found what I wanted but it took a while.

 

My only advice to fixing your prob is to move !!! Not a very good solution though.

Otherwise, try making friends with the department clerk. For years the TRU in Totowa NJ had a lady working who would always hold a new fig off to the side for me. The trade was I'd get her coffee.
