Im gonna piss some people off here, but when I see things like EVOs, and WRX's with those 4-door body styles, performance be damned I still see something that I expect to see a single mom driving.

i dunno.. i generally assume moms drive SUVs these days... whereas college girls drive small cute things like sunfires and focuses...ah yes isn't genderism fun :tflaugh

I remember a thread for a while back, perhaps on another BBS, and I had said that I wanted to see a Mazda RX-8 Alternator as Jazz. A few days later, I found out about the Mazda RX-8 Alternator, and I was happy.

When I found out it's name was Meister - I was ecstatic that I got my wish.

SINGLE moms, Dude. Not some pampered-ass wife of someone with a high paying job, or just someone over-extended out the ass. Single moms usually cant afford $50K for one of those butched up station wagons. And thats what most of these so-called SUVs are nowadays. Ive been an off-roader and an adventurer as long as Ive been driving so you're hearing this right from the horse's mouth. Outside of everything Jeep makes (yep, I am just a LITTLE biased!), the Land Rover Defender series and Discovery, and the Nissan XTerra, there's not much out there that can handle any REAL challenge. True, most will never see the chance to, but my way of thinking is that if you build something to tackle the most demanding challenges, it lasts forever and will do the job every time, although with some compromise. If you build it only to do what you expect its owner to put it thru, you limit yourself severely, and if you go beyond that limit you're screwed. In other words, you can drive a Jeep Rubicon down the highway and to the mall all day. Not comfortably, and with lousy gas mileage; thats the compromise you expect in a purpose-built vehicle. But it will get you there every time. Try driving a CR-V or an Explorer on any moderate trail, and the broken parts and thrashed body panels will flow like wine. You'll be walking home, and the mechanic will LOVE seeing you coming. And sure, genderism is fun. Pisses people off! LOL!

Dude, you said it. Even though he was originally a porsche, Id say the RX-8 is definitely a worthy Jazz/Meister. The car just somehow fits him in a way I cant really explain.

My ideas for alternators:

Bumblebee - New Mini Cooper

Cliffjumper or Skids - SMART car

Mirage or Blurr - F1 car, probably williams as the colors match

Ironhide - a Dodge van

Brawn or Trailbreaker - a chunky 4WD/SUV perhaps a mitsubishi

It would be nice to see a decent motorbike - a Yamaha.

For non-cars, assuming they ever do any,

Starscream - F15

Perceptor - a real microscope or telescope

Soundwave - Mobile phone, like maybe Sony P900 or Nokia communicator. Or a Discman. I'd like to see Rumble as an iPod

Okay, a few things:

In the case of most of the G1 Alternators, updating them by using more modern car designs is cool. But for Grimlock, Kup, Hot Rod and the more futuristic Autobot cars, most of the ideas I've seen ....well, not to be a pain or anything, but I don't like the alt modes proposed. Hot Rod and Kup were futuristic vehicles. And while the Nails is an interesting desigm, Kup would look simply hideous in that form. As for Grimlock, keep him as a Dinobot; that's how he was designed. (although if he absolutely HAD to be a car, my vote would be with the hummer.)

Also, one other thing: under no circumstances should the pt cruiser be used for ANY type of Alternator. Period. TRhat thing looks so butt-ugly, it makes a sharkticon run away, screaming in fear.

Dunno if someone said this already,

Trailbreaker as an H2

and maybe Red alert as a Saleen

Maybe I didnt clarify my original idea enough, but my version skips the bot mode altogether. Im thinking a dark grey H1 that turns into a big T-rex. I just always thought having a robot turn into an animal is redundant. Especially since the animal here has two legs and two arms. Not much reason to revert to 'bot mode. And this also keeps in line with the Alternators being based off of vehicles. So he's still a Dinobot, just an Autobot car also. Personally, the idea of a few animals with vehicle alt modes is something Id like to see more of. How cool was Sky Lynx? Trypticon (city and mobile battle station modes). It brings about the idea that there is more diversity in Cybertronian life forms, not all humanoid robots, ya know?

I'm too lazy to find it but Nissan made a concept truck called the Nissan Nails or something, I swear to ya, it could be Kup. It's very spiffy. I hope the pick-up alternator we're supposed to get down the line is named and styled after Kup.

The Nissan Nails does look like Kup, but spiffy is hardly a word that can be use to descried that eyesore on wheels.

I think WRX had made this suggestion a week or two back.

That would make a cool Kup

For me, I'd like to see a Range Rover 4.0 (Trailbreaker) any type of Ferrari (even though I doubt it and think some toy company has nailed worldwide exclusive rights to make Ferraris into toys), a mini-van (Ironhide), and an ambulance of some type (Ratchet). If they let the chance to FINALLY make a cartoon-accurate Ironhide and Ratchet (in bot modes) pass them by, I'm gonna smack someone
