Hasbro Answers Your Burning Questions Part 2

Recommended Posts

Lord Madhammer: Given your focus on the kids' toy market, what do you think about licensing the Transformers brand to specialty companies (e.g., Diamond Select, Sideshow Toys), who could create transformable Transformers figures for adult collectors?

Hasbro:
Because of the technology and expertise involved in making Transformers toys,
we would be worried about the quality that any other company would be able to achieve in making a Transformers figure
. Your idea is technically what the Transformers Collector Club is for, and the recent release of the Seacons is an example of how we find alternate ways to get out products that the fans enjoy.

OH JESUS CHRIST YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME

well, I guess that answers my question.

You mean, i guess that DOESN'T answer my (your) question. :tflaugh

I mean, seriously, the seacons isn't ANYTHING what you meant. :roll Nor was G1 you should have mentioned RAH figures as an example. (you kinda did, but they sound confused)

No, it does answer my question. They're not going to license the TF brand to other companies for any transformable figures. That's what I wanted to know.

My only problem with their answer (which is probably just because it's the ONLY way Hasbro ever thinks about the Transformers market for adult fans) is that they seemed to feel by "adult collectible" you meant reissues of G1 figures or limited editions of their usual kid's toys...

*whiny fanboy* But I want them now!!

I personally do not care about the seekers. People gripe about repaints and then turnaround and demand Hasbro give us repaints.

no, people gripe about night watch prime, stealth bumblebee, off road ironhide, elite guard bumblebee, shadow megatron, desert brawl, jungle bonecrusher.. catch my drift. people don't gripe about the seekers, or the universe prowl mold, or ironhide into ratchet because they were all originally repaints. so there's no contradiction there like you're trying to make it seem.

and yeah hasbro.... the collectors club is doing a great service to the fans with their ridiculous prices, their not so great exclusive figures, their consistent delays, and not very much "exclusive" news. hell.. the fans are doing far better work than the collectors club ever has.

To be fair, though, the most common whine from the adult collector is, "why isn't this more like it was when I was a child 20 years ago!?"

So, you can't blame them too much for not entirely getting what it is Madhammer wants...

I think that was just the only bone they had to throw me.

Constructicons - Not at this time. If we do these characters, we want them to be fully realized and able to take advantage of their iconic abilities. Unfortunately, timing is prohibiting us from making these items anytime in the near future. We would not want to force fit them into the line and make versions of these characters that don't acurately reflect a Constructicon's abilities.

Translation: We are too damn busy getting ready all the ugly-ass movie toys that are about to come out to bother making toys for all the Animated characters that, you know, appeared in multiple episodes of the cartoon. Animated Omega Supreme is almost certainly a pipe dream.

Sigh... it kinda makes me wish they had waited on Animated until the movies were done.

One more reason to hate the Bayformers.

FYI

If the movie does well again (and it will), I'm betting Animated will likely continue for at least two more seasons. And we'll get more toys.

Your right, I guess i was thinking Hasbro was wrong in the type of Tfs they mentioned, but since they aren't going to give their license out,it doesn;t matter anyway.

damn they didn't answer mine
