G1 Superion = the failiest of the G1 Ghestalts.

One could say the same about the Energon Gestalts - Superion is definitely the weakest out of the three IMO.

I really thought I'd like this repaint.

Not anymore.

Heh. New packaging. Meh.

Has any one else seen the 'glyfs on the cardboard behind the figures? The have dicepticon symbols in there as well! .........any thoughts?

That packaging is incredible.

While I hope that Superion's placement in the ROTF toyline is just an error on Hasbro's part, that actual packaging design is amazing. I assume that's the head of the Fallen at the top of the box, too.

He's correct. I read this on tfw2005. At the very top of Universe Superion's box is what consider 4 eyes of the Fallen. I can't provide a link because whenever I post a link, it gets deleted. Just look up at the Superion box and you should see 4 eyes in red. For me, I don't know if it's true. I'll take this with a grain of salt.

Comparrison pics. I leave you to make your own comments:

My comment is that Universe releases (both of Ultra Silverbolt and this redeco) look to be the best.

The G1 and Microbot Superion are both superior to that wretched pile of repaints from Energon.

The G1 and Universe Silverbolt toys are better than the toy from Energon.

I find your opinion interesting, and wish to know more on what leads you to these conclusions.

I looked at the pictures. I find Energon Superion to be cheap and hideous. Even something that might be considered lowly like the Micro Superion looks better.

To each his own. I'm with Blot, the two Universe releases look equally good in different ways. The Ultra has the classic G1 look, and the Energon repaint has the "modernized" feel that some of the Classics/Universe figures have.
