Heya everybody. I've been fairly absent from here lately, but that's mostly because of a prolonged job search. I'm employed now, and oddly enough that means moar free time. :)

So... I promised an Ironhide guide, and I've made one. Better late than never, I suppose.

Anyway, it's been going on all week at my website, MattBooker.info .

I was posting it there to try and get it all together and organized before I could post it here. And today I find that somebody on seibertron.com has already posted a guide with pretty much the same fix (sans today's step, which is the ball joint part of it.) Hooray. It is a nice guide, though. So props to that person.

:emo

Oh well, that guide still doesn't address all of the issues inherent in the figures construction. The last picture on that person's guide shows their completed Ironhide has a really obvious floating crotch issue and hips just begging for a roshambo. :sweet

And it doesn't have teh funny.

Okay. Enough pissin' and moanin'. You can find my guide over at MattBooker.info, or just click this handy dandy link.

My apologies for the wait, guys. And sorry for not posting it in full here on TFormers. (I've got several reasons for that, though mainly it's just trying to centralize my writing [i do more than custom guides, you know...]) It's a long one, because Ironhide was more a learning experience for me than a straight up mod.

Let me know if you liked it. Swoop is still to come.

Looking forward to a tutorial to fix up Ironhide. Already fixed his face with a little thing called silver paint.

It's all up there. The only thing left in Ironhide Week is something cool I'm going to have up for tomorrow.

Wow. Really like it, but just a tad nervous. That's a little more intense than I care to do. I'm afraid I might go through three Ironhides before realizing I'm just not going to bother and wind up buying a fourth and final one that I'll just leave alone as is.

I have to admit, the balljoint part was kind of daring for me, but these mods are learning experiences for me too, so I soldiered on. I figured at the very least, it would make for interesting guide material. Thankfully it turned out okay. :)

Still, I had an Ironhide with a cut crotch and middle piece, and that bugged me that I'd modded what I didn't need to. If I hadn't found that second Ironhide to swap pieces with, it would still bother me.

Regardless of whether you did the mod, did it at least make you laugh?

Great work on the blog, Matt. (Hello, fellow Wordpresser! If you figure out how to add Google Adsense or something similar to it, drop me a PM? )

I got a kick out of seeing Ironhide type out his parts of the blog. (the JaAm thing was great, too.)

Haven't yet tried to do the cutting mods on my Ironhide, yet. (but I did end up scraping some of the red paint off his hood. :redface I should email Hasbro and see what type of paint they use, so I can avoid it. )

Spent most of the day trying to figure out where to start. (I think I just figured it out by watching the pieces as he transforms. )

Thanks. I haven't even worked on the theme yet. I'm sick as hell today, so the last day of Ironhide week is going to have to wait until tomorrow.

As for figuring out where to start, well, not doing that is the reason why I had to buy another Ironhide. Just because everybody else was cutting on the middle \ crotch piece, didn't mean I should've.

This guide was a bit wordy just because of that. I wanted to put down my reasoning, and show the process I went through and not just the step by step conclusions.

And JaAm is delicious!
