I see some simply amazing work here. Any suggestions on what model makeing companies have the best quality plastic or are for other reasons the best to kitbash? Does anyone ever use diecast model cars? What are the best places to look online? Thanks, P-

Like the topic says, where's the best place online to acquire some of those KO Alternators? In particular, I'm looking for a Wheeljack mold, maybe more than one. Also, if this sort of question is not allowed here, my apologies.

After looking at Robot Heroes Prowl and Blitzwing, I realized it wouldn't take much tweaking for them to be modified into workable Deluxe size replacement heads - resculpting the mouth on Prowl, and slightly more in-depth face re-sculpting for Blitzwing. While the overall head sizes are slightly smaller than the typical Deluxes, their faces themselves are about the same size as, say, Deluxe Universe Classics Prowl's face. This means just beef up the helmet with details and such, and you have a workable head. Looking at them, both Hound and Blitzwing have excellent heads for this - their helmets are relatively generic, and details and such can be added on easily. On th…

  5. Started by Valandar,

Yesterday I got three of the relatively recent double-sized knockoffs of the LOC Starscrean. The plastic is actually pretty decent, and the paint comes off well with alcohol leaving a white plane with grey head, foreatms, thighs, and feet (and guns). The hips were tricky to remove the thighs without breaking the connectors, but overall it's a nice little piece - for two bucks each! So, I decided to repaint them into a new trio of seekers for my webcomic, using the names of three jet-mode Decepticon G1 characters that weren't actually seekers. Two are the micromasters Falcon and Skyhopper, while the third is the Targetmaster Misfire - Love the character, and swapped of…

Hi, New to the kitbash world. I got a couple TFs I'd like to mod. I want to mod a junk g1 prime i got from ebay. I'm thinking about doing an all black version. Much like the takara special edition. For prime I'll use auto paint. But the trailer is something I'm pondering over. I've seen some kitbashes on ebay stating that guys dyed the plastic. Has anyone tried this? What type of dye do you use, how does the process work. This will be my first project. I'd like to do a second prime with a purple/silver cab and a black trailer. Then I got an messed up hotrod that I wanted to do silver and purple. What's the best way to takle this repaint and dyes? :tflaugh1

Ok, guys, some of you know i've been working on this forever! By working, i mean desigining, and imagining...i haven't actually DONE anything yet. other than some digibashes.... at any rate, here are some mock up pics, along with the digibashes for my fanchar BIACS (Bull In A China Shop). He is a garbage truck, and i hope to have him done before Animated Wreck-Gar comes out, so that he can be the first Garbage Truck Transformer. WOOT! :) Anyway, he's going to be made from RID Prime, RID Ultra Magnus's legs, Cyb Prime's backpack, and E-Landmine's brute mode stuff. I was struggling with where everything would end up in vehicle mode - would E-LM's brute arms stay fix…

Took a double sized fake G1 Prowl, mixed and matched parts with another one to get as many black and white parts as I could on him (and the correct face and light kit) Made stickers with a sheet of adhesive lable pages, trial and error on the correct size. Painted up the bits that were not the right color, especially the 2 tone body. Put it all together and BAM, almost alternator sized G1 Prowl. Observe.
