I became a Transformers fan in 1985, the first time I saw the show. And back then I drew both Decepticons and Autobots a lot. It's been more than 22 years since I last drew these characters, with the exception of a couple Prime drawings/paintings. I was not a fan of the post-Optimus Prime era, only Generation 1 and up to the movie which came out in 1986. So my intentions are to draw every robot from the G1 episodes and some characters from the 86 movie, then I'll move on to G.I. xmas present for a friend. left the backgoround white to give it a vargas feel. i don't draw girls alot so the proportions aren't perfect, espically in the cut and past collage i made. also took some liberties with the jacket and boots. let me know what you think.

Wanted to try out a pic without inked lines, in the style of E.J. Su's covers from the -ation comics. Tried to stay true to the toy designs, Grimlock's colourscheme is a mix of the Classic and Henkei toy. Background was a little rushed :P

As the contest ended to my benefit (weee), the coloured version can finally be posted! :) Tried to fix the expression a bit and add some speed to it by blurring and speed lines. Bit of an experiment in terms of motion blurring. Made it a bit smaller in size, so it's easier to view the entire image at one glance.
