TFA Puzzle Revealed: Beachcomber

Recommended Posts

Something tells me that if Hasbro want's to use the name Circuit Breaker they are well with in their rights since there was a G.I. Joe named Circuit Breaker whom they have the rights to. So the name is theirs. As for the G1 comic likeness since it was in Transformers continuity, and Marvel had to pay Hasbro for the rights to use the Transformers Hasbro still owned it even though it was in Marvel Comics.

I wonder if Beachcomber will get a golden shower in this series aswell.

I'm sorry, but there is not, nor has there ever been a G.I. Joe character known as "Circuit Breaker". Ever. If there were a degree in Hasbro-ology, I'd have my master's.

If that's not Beachcomber (or some permutation thereof) I will indeed eat my hat. Maybe "Beach Cruiser" or some other trademark inhibited name.

His name was Breaker. Trademarks now have him as "Corporal Breaker".

No.

Like Death's Head, a famous Marvel Comics Transformers character that had a large role in Marvel Transformers continuity, Circuit Breaker is owned by Marvel. This is due to the fact that before Circuit Breaker or Death's Head appeared in the Transformers comics, they both had earlier apearances in other books, unrelated to Transformers. Therefore, Circuit Breaker is Marvel Copyright, whereas for example the Last Autobot is Hasbro property (since it appeared exclusively in the Marvel TF Comics).

And, I'm not sure, but do any of you take this picture of Beachcomber seriously? Because I can tell you, that picture has been circulating the webs for quite some time now, where it has been posted as being fan-art, nothing more and nothing less. So, unless you are all pretending take this seriously due to some injoke I missed while glossing over this thread....

For the record, Death's Head was never very popular.

Im thinkin Curcuit Breaker from the original comic. It goes with the whole human villian thing too. ;)

Marvel owns rights to Circuit Breaker though. I don't see Hasbro paying Marvel a license.

no they don't.

Circuit Breaker first appeared in Transformers, it's part of the reason the Furman put Death's head in another Marvel property first so that Marvel instead of Hasbro would have the rights to the character.

....Do you even read other people's posts? Circuit Breaker appeared first in Secret Wars II, before she ever appeared in Transformers, just for this reason, as I explained earlier, if you would have bothered to actually read the posts of others.

And you're even wrong in assuming Furman was responsible for Death's Head first appearing in a Marvel book. This was enforced by Marvel Exec's, not Furman.

Animated beachcomber looks good
