Images of Henkei Galvatron & Ironhide

WOW... That Galvatron is so filled with G1 goodness... Hasbro why can't you be like this?

Because Hasbro rather not assault their figures with random chrome that makes them look like KOs?

Well better than random repaints and non accurate paint. Anyhow chrome really isn't something needed to complain about. It adds more G1 likeness to them... :tmyk

How exactly is Hasbro's Galvatron paint job inaccurate?

Well hell, I took one look at that Henkei Galvatron picture and immediately I knew in my loins that it was G1 Galvatron, of endless 1980's toon-watching fame. When I first saw Hasbro Galvatron, I didn't have that instinctive response to it. The Tomy version is MUCH more unified color-wise and the shade of blurple they chose is much more immediately evocative of Galvatron IMO.

I understand that, but Classics/Universe isn't trying to completely replicate the G1 colour schemes. G1 Bumblebee didn't have white stripes, Skywarp and Starscream didn't have "triangular" wing stripes, Ramjet didn't have golden highlights in jet mode, etc....

I think Hasbro's colour schemes did the job in that it was/is a very Galavtron-esque paint job. It's not G1 accurate, but it's not meant to be.

It's also ugly. Seriously, I really don't understand Hasbro sometimes. It's as if they try to choose the least aesthetically pleasing color schemes possible. As contrasted with the Henkei line, the plain ugliness of some of these Universe toys really jumps out at me. I'm not saying that slavish G1 colors is the only option, but just pick something that doesn't look awful.

I like the purple that Hasbro used on Galvatron. Ironically it makes Galvatron look more show accurate.

:stfu I don't even feel like reading what you just said. I made my point. So I won't be posting on this thread again.

I can not believe Ironhide's bumper bar didn't recieve the flashy chrome treatment. The chrome gun looks cool but the yellow striping looks :lame Galvatron's new paint/chrome treatment equate nothing more than complete and utter fail.

I'm with Madhammer a lot of the colors in this line are just too ridiculously tacky. Silverbolt especially. :puke

Maybe it's a Galvatron fan thing, but Hasbro's Galvy doesn't look any less like Galvatron then TT's Galvy.

And aside from Megatron and Ironhide I've yet to see a Classics/Universe figure that's distinctly uglier then what TT's given us.

Anyway, both Henkei and Universe versions look like they have a Galvatron-ish paint job to me, but Henkei! has random chrome syndrome to the point of going beyond randomly annoying and into KO territory. So IMO Hasbro wins this round.

What's really sad is that we're talking about a figure that's essentially crap on a stick, regardless of what colour you paint it :tfemo
