Transformers Alternity Prototype in Hobby Japan

Recommended Posts

For all it's complexity - its annoying that

A) The tires just sit there in his armpits (I'd like to see something similar to TFA jazz at least...) That always makes the figures look kinda fat IMO.

B) his windshield and roof all hang off his back in one solid piece. Gah! Fold it up people!

I don't mind the wheel placement, and the alternators have always had issues with large chunks of car hanging off. That's the cost of creating realistic vehicles with minimal seams that shouldn't be there. Granted some molds have had more success than others.

My big gripe is that they did Prime again. I've already got three Primes on my desk.

I am curious to see a final product and determine if the realism and detail is as good as the BT's were.

That will probably be what decides if I get one or not.

There's nothing that strikes me as inherently bad about the figure, but I am underwhelmed by it for some reason.

:shrug

Pretty much sums up my opinion - and I am/was a wicked huge BT fanboy.

It seems to me that that's just the cost of designing new cars with the old G1 aesthetic.

This is a nice homage to G2 Go-Bots Prime, though.

and people batched when he was a ram. can't wait to hear the prime fanboys cry when they see that he's now a car.

I think that was more that the ram design was really quite sucktastic and poor than anything else. This looks like a nice figure but doesnt scream "Optimus", nothing to fo with being a "fanboi" its just that there is a history with the product now, starscream wouldnt be right as a dump truck for example

I would love to see the 2 color versions. But ambivalent is a good description of my excitement. I do love die-cast toys though....

Well, look at it this way, compared to when he transformed into a shoe last year, this is a step in the right direction.

Nike Free 7.0 TFs rocked, FTW, don't knock it til you've tried it.

thoughtI'd do a quite digibash I don't think the toy will have quite so much blue but I went with the G1 just to be on the safe side
