According to the report at Slashfilm.com Shia called the producers of the Transformers sequel to inform them that his pinky finger may have to be removed due the immense damage it suffered during his July 27th vehicular accident. Director Michael Bay has already stated that filming around the injury has been an effort and we can only imagine the amount of havoc having to work around this new development would bring.

Last week Bay was telling reporters that they were trying to figure a way to work it into the story: “His two fingers are pretty mashed,†Bay told Access Hollywood. “But we’re figuring out a way to shoot around it, kind of write it in the story.†But one must remember that Hollywood does not shoot a film in sequential order. I’m not sure how it would be possible to write an injury into the story without major reshoots.

Shoot Star Trek's Mr. Scott was missing his ring finger since WW2 and I don't think anyone ever noticed. It isn't like we're going to see Sam finger-banging Mikaela.

Quiet you! You're ruining the pointless celebrity gossip!

Wow...

That must suck.

Knows of a young girl who just sliced off her ring finger in a meat shop.

Accidents will happen, others like impaired driving accidents can be prevented.

to be fair it wasn't his fault some pillock jumped a red light and plowed into him, the outcome would have been the same whether Shia had partaken in alcohol or not.

That could be heavily debated.....
