The only number I can see in the pic is a #20. I'm assuming that is his number in the Tak reissue series.

What bothers me most about the Energon Combiners is not that they have no hands, but that two of the limbs are just repaints. I'm not normally a Hasbro basher, but that's just lazy...

Not that it'll stop me from buying them the moment they hit shelves...

Took the words right outta my mouth. On superion, who cares, a jet is a jet is a jet. But on Bruticus, I was salivating thinking what the Swindle-like component would be like, only to find that they cheaped out and did repaints. And after seeing Alt Hound/Swindle and E-Strongarm I had my hopes up as to what kind of Jeep they'd be doing.

As to the hands thing, who cares? Theyre getstalts. Theyre purely for bashing someone's head in, not for such feats of dexterity as building a ship-in-a-bottle, or playing a giant piano. A claw, pair of guns, etc will do just fine. For more delicate work, and most of the time anyway, these guys would be separated into their smaller bots. So thats no big deal.

I dont speak japanese :roll but I think that 20 is about 20th anniversary. :tftongue

Turbine can understand japanese :P he can translate that. :P

I don't speak Japanese either, but if you look at the re-issue section of Takara's website, the only numbers shown in the descriptions are that of the re-issue order. I guess the price is listed too...

We really need to learn how to read japanese....

The combiners don't impress me much....

Agreed. :tdown

So, (in the cartoon) are the combiners onicons and terrorcons with the ability to combine, or what? Why do they come with their own energon stars? If they are terrorcons, then why do they have nonanimal forms. What is the deal?

Ditto. I think I'd rather have had two gestalts with ten separate molds than three gestalts with nine separate molds.

And the double up is REALLY lame on the construction team...two payloaders and two cranes? You have a reason to have an air strike team or an army, but I don't know about a gang of construction vehicles. I wish they had at least done the minor retooling like they did on the powered up E-Inferno...

I'm especially irritated now that they won't be doing the Protectobots as an E-gestalt. Something like a car mode with a simple but effective repaint as a police car vs a fire chief's car would've been easy and less repetitive than two helicopters.

I like the gestalts. Outrider is right, they don't need hands, they just need to smash stuff. I also like having matching limbs. It evens out the gestalt and makes them look more uniform.
