Takara Previews - Combiners, BTs & Reissues!

this is off topic;

does anyone think that pradaking's sword is out of scale. i mean he should have a large freaking sword to match his size, instead of a toothpick.

:pfx

That sword is like a toothpick. :rofl

I thought the toy of Predaking looked too squat. Im still going to buy him though, when I return to the "Land of Plenty".

The new ones are missing something.  Like, say hands and feet.....

but they gained what the old ones were lacking.... namely articulation :thumb

I don't think hands/feets should be sacrificed to gain articulation. Beast Wars's Magnaboss and Tripredacus were articulated nad have those body parts, so R.I.D.'s Rail Racer (JRX). Other than that, they're fine. :thumb

Tripedacus had Claws not much better than these combiners.

NOT off topic! That's a valid observation/point. That sword should be larger. I think its smaller so it can be used by the individual components, though they could have done a sword similar to .

I agree that JRX is probably the best combiner ever.  Three accurate looking vehicles that turn into great robots that combine to form an even better large robot.  Usually with most combiners there are compromises made with at least one of the forms.

You mean like how the leg guy on JRX was 90% leg in standalone robot mode? I thought Tripredacus handled the leg issue a bit better.

I just leave Rail Racer combined...only like the head component as an individual..but the 3 combined is pure bot sweetness

Damn those pics sold me, I placed a preorder with HLJ for the set :(

Oh and the release date is now October (not sure if that's new)

What bothers me most about the Energon Combiners is not that they have no hands, but that two of the limbs are just repaints. I'm not normally a Hasbro basher, but that's just lazy...

Not that it'll stop me from buying them the moment they hit shelves...

I'm still wondering why Predaking is listed as #20 instead of #17...possibly three other Tak reissues between the Insecticons and Predaking?
