I did go to Walmart...I live in the South, where they are more plentiful than Starbucks. Perhaps the delivery mules died on the way in town again.

Yeah I've seen Animated toys (though not in the same quantities or waves :wtf) at at least three Wal-Marts in my area.

Maybe they have some at K-Mart or KB Toys. I'll have to check just in case I've slipped into Bizzaro World.

it was tough not to get a deluxe also but I have a wife and stuff. so yea, Grimlock is now purchased, can't wait to get this thing opened.

I like the way the alt mode for once actually fills the package too.

 

Regarding Cybertron Megatron. The insurmountable suckitude people are describing really doesn't surprise me in the least. Bot mode's debatable but the alt mode of this thing I personally find less inspiring than both sizes of movie Megatron. Movie Megatron at least looked like he could possibly be of alien orgins Animated Megatron looks like some kind futuristic hover pod, and the colors are all wrong. This ones an automatic pass as was movie voyager Megatron. Everything about the toy IMO just looks like epic fail.

ok..so im new here....i just left the toys r us in my area.....pineville nc....and picked up voyager megatron...cyb prime...and lockdown...lockdown is kinda meh....the hands kill it for me....megs is killer...and so i prime....best deluxe prime ever..

I realize that doesn't say a whole lot but right now I only own to Grimlocks and didn't like either that much. I find it difficult to believe when I read some fans actually "think" Energon Grimlock looks better than the upcoming animated voyager. :P What are you people smoking? I own the toy first hand and for a line a strong as Energon this went below Armada standards. Aesthetically it's a good homage of G1 Grimlock but the execution/quality was crap.

 

Classics Grimlock raised the bar a bit more, and was a lot more solid in execution but still wasn't that great a toy. Animated just gets it right, and gives fans a bad ass, intimidating looking Trex that pays a wonderful homage to the G1 toy/character while updating it at the same time. Looking forward to finding this over any other animated toy because I've now been burned twice trying to get a decent Grimlock, can't afford a G1 version so third times the charm hopefully.
