Hound Vs Swindle

I too note the Autobot Symbol.

Swindle has much bigger tires (NICE!), but his head is SO MUCH SMALLER. I don't like it. I guess it just makes it easier for him to stick it up Onslaught's ass when they form Bruticus.

In terms of the autobot symbol, it is still there (untill I find a right size replacement) as this is not an `officially` released figure yet. I am confident it (and my Meister/Jazz) are the `very nearly almost final` production models as came in a sealed plastic bag and there is none of the usual `not for sale` on them anywhere like the other protos/testshots. Also are brand new and had never been transformed, very very stiff in all the right places, I think that they may just be tweaking the colour mixes at the factory as if you look at Swindle you can see the colours are not a total match yet (in places), Meister/Jazz is uniform in colour all over.

swindle makes hound look like a dumb idiot

swindle i will get!!twice!

Eh, I'm not too enthusiastic about Swindle. The Decepticons in this toyline are just throwaways as far as I'm concerned. Dead End should have been Sunstreaker and Swindle just should have never been.

I. Agree. Totally.

Here's what I don't get:

Smokescreen's head: super-detailed version of his "anime head"

Sideswipe's head: ditto

Silverstreak's head: ditto

Hound's head: ditto

Tracks' head: ditto

Jazz's head: ditto

Grimlock's head: ditto

Dead End's head: super-detailed version of Sunstreaker's head

Swindle's head: super-detailed version of Trailbreaker's (?) head

From the moment Hasbro said "Decepticon Alternators will be repaints of Autobots" you knew they were going to get the short end of the stick, which they clearly have. (Along with a few Autobots.) But at least Swindle is the right colors! Dead End should have looked like this (forgive the sloppy Photoshop work; it's early):

i guess i am in the minority, i like the decepticon alts, not as much as thier autobot counter parts but they still beat the hell out of having nothing for our 1:24 scale bots to challenge.

Don't get me wrong -- I love the idea of Decepticon Alternators (the Stunticons were some of my favorite Decepticons ever), it's just that the execution has been disappointing.

As I've said a bazillion times before, forget the head sculpt etc. -- "Dead End" isn't even colored like Dead End. There's nothing at all similar between those two characters, beyond the 'Con symbol and the friggin' racing stripe. They may as well have named him "Breakdown" (which would have made at least some sense, given that Sideswipe and Breakdown were both Lamborghinis) or "Wildrider" (which also would have been better, since the colors are a lot closer to his than Dead End's).

If Hasbro was going to make an all-Autobot line, then they should have done so. If they were going to make Decepticon Alternators, then they should have received the same amount of attention as the Autobot Alternators. But unfortunately we're stuck somewhere in the middle. Sure, a black Viper looks sweet, but what does that have to do with Transformers?

Okay, I'm all outta rant. :redface

I think they should scale up RM starscream, add some more sophistication and articulation to it and then repaint it a dozen times like the original seeker jets lol. But seriously they could release it as a separate decepticon line if they dont want to deviate from the super reality and licencing of the Alternator series

i think if they had made the spare tire bigger, or porportionate to the rest of his tires, then he would've got a bigger gun, and then people would complain that he made out hella lot better than hound, but this way he has faults, so it's cool.

I like this guy WAY better than Hound. The bigger tires, brush guard, head sculpt and color all add up to a kick ass figure. Hound suffers from too-small tires and they kept him dark green, and thats a color I hate passionately. Still, he's a great toy and well worth the $50 I spent for the BT version. When Swindle hits the shelves, he will be mine!

THe stripes are onthe arm to give it the allsusion that they have suspension.

I agree, they should have upscaled the RM lines. I would certainly pay for a Bigger, more detailed version of RM starscream.

I personally won't be paying a cent for any Decepticon alt/bt. It's expensive enought for the mold the 1st time around.
