there's a storyline explaination for why all the Descpeticon/Destron Binaltech are actrually the bodies of Autobot/Cybertrons. apparently the Binaltech technology is only available to Autobot/Cybertrons and Dead End stole Suntreaker's body and Swindle (i'm guessing) stole Trailbreaker's body. so all the Destrons will be Cybertrons with detailing similar to the Destron who took over thier body. that's the story anywho as far as i know.

See, that's still a cop-out IMO. It would be one thing if the 'Cons were repaints of existing Autobots -- but to not even release the "original" figures and replace them with these knock-offs? I think that's poor. What kind of a lame story line gives the Decepticons such unoriginal bodies?

don't get me wrong... i want original non-repaint or re-mold Decepticon/Destrons but i just don't think it will happen with liscensed vehicles as car companies don't want to be identified with "evil" characters. i'm just picking and choosing through the line and in some cases only buying the decepticon version of the mold (like in the case of Swindle). i *do* kinda like the idea of destrons stealing cybertron's bodies... it's a neat concept story-wise even if it is a cop-out toy-wise.

so who's going to do a Trailbreaker paint app to their swindle, complete with adding the back cover to show a good difference between the 3, haven't found a model jeep that has the back cover to do it yet but it's def something i want to do.

Personally I hope they do a different jeep for Trailbreaker

edit: and another thing, why are you guys saying Swindle should have been Trailbreaker? Trailbreaker was a pickup truck. If they are trying to match the cars to look somewhat like their previous form would a Jeep really be that close?

I think you guys are being overly harsh, i mean it isn't like these are straight repaints is it? Designers are taking the time to give each figure its own distinct personality. Dead End and Sidswipe while sharing many similarities, are completly different in appearance in person even if they were both paintedc red, the differences in the mold would still stand out immediately. Granted I wish the Dead End was Sunstreaker and he may yet be, but we still n eed villians and as someone already said, no car company will want to show itself solely in a villinous light.

Who cares? Was Sideswipe a Viper? Silverstreak wasn't a Subaru...Get out of Geewun's Outback cavaity.

 

The mold was intended to be Trailbreaker from the start, just as Deadend was Sunstreaker. If you even *try* to debate this, I'll beat you with my stick of ambiguity, because it's painfully obvious who they were. YES, I am going to repaint Swindle into Trailbreaker, and YES, I will own an extra Swindle for my tiny Decepticon army. Also worth noting, Hasbro doesn't have any rights to the name "Trailbreaker", which may have led to his repainting...That, and Archer saw fan demand for Swindle.
