Now, P@BC, how about at least teasing me with the notion you guys are considering expanding upon that April Fool's story?

consider yourself teased...

OMG! MIRROR UNIVER WRECKGAR TOTALLY HAS A GOATEE!

I still find Botcon to be completely free of blame in their Seeker set. No amount of wishful thinking was going to make Hasbro release the same mold six times in a single line at retail. That's never, ever, ever happened

To not argue with you, but to agree with your above point to an extent and direct my argument towards Hasbro firstly:

1/ Hasbro /released at least 4 versions of the same charecter for the movie (deluxe/voyager, leader, HOC size and those dinky little push and go versions).

2/ Alternators had a similar problem. When asked why a blue tracks wasnt released for the first time around, hasbro said that there was "already a blue alternator" (Smokescreen) and that "another blue car would confuse the market". They said this as an excuse for the other weird alts (Deadend when we wanted sunstreaker) and yet they then released quite a few bots who were red, then a few blue ones etc.

In my opinion, the only reason Hasbro doesnt release all the seekers is to create demand high for them. They released all three seekers and then some for armada, didnt they?

BOTCON shouldnt have released the seekers. There was always a chance Hasbro would later release them, perhaps in drips, as shelf-fillers. The seekers were "bread and butter bots" and not specialist interest "icing on the cake bots" as exclusives should, and are often meant to, be. Now there is zero chance that the average fan will be able to get their hands on what was a lovely mold that deserved to be made into all the seekers.

This exclusive boxed set for 2008, however, is exactly what it should be: Special editions of toys/characters we allready have. Im not a fan of the colours myself, but Im a fan of the direction the BOTCON bods have gone in. well done BOTCON. More of this please.

In my opinion

There's the problem. Hasbro clearly had concerns that six characters based on two molds would sell at retail. Everyone's all like "OMG Classics" now, but that's only because the line has been kept alive by Hasbro in the form of TF Universe. At the time, when Classics 1.0 was out, those things were pegwarming. People say "but the Seekers were central characters, of course they would sell" but they forget the fact that every single Classics toy was a "central character".

But I really don't want to keep having this discussion over and over again.

What the TFCC and BotCon have done to earn my love....

1-Release the remaining three Classics Seekers as exclusives, leaving my collection forever incomplete.

I still find Botcon to be completely free of blame in their Seeker set. No amount of wishful thinking was going to make Hasbro release the same mold six times in a single line at retail. That's never, ever, ever happened (you know, since G1...but the market's changed a lot in 20 years, folks).

The '09 CC Movie Bumblebee mold begs to differ :tftongue

Although I do agree I can't really blame the TFCC, or even Hasbro, for the Seeker set. Had Classics 1.0 been a primary line rather then filler I'm 99% sure we would have gotten Thundercracker, Dirge, and Thrust in retail at some point. I can't really blame Hasbro for only producing three Seekers given the fact that at the time Hasbro thought the line would be finished after two waves.

Nor can I blame the TFCC for getting Hasbro to produce the three remaining Seekers, regardless of the limited quantities.

I'm still allowed to be pissed over not getting them though :D

I think there's a statute of limitations on that JMO

Okay, fine.

Is this really a surprise to people? The botcon stories have always seemed like poorly written fanwank to me.
