MP Sunstorm

Recommended Posts

I made this guy up for Vector's tribute contest over at tfw2005, and thought I'd share the pics. I hope to sell him after the contest is over.

I know several others have attempted this, so I decided to make my Sunstorm unique. I chose to go with something a little closer to the yellow seen in More than Meets the Eye, rather than the creamsicle orange used by the E-Hobby repaints. I'm honestly not 100% happy with the metallic colour I found, but I simply couldn't find the perfect colour at model or automotive stores. I always thought Sunstorm was a flamboyant character, so I added a simple flame pattern to his wings and forward fuselage. I'm really happy with the tail-fin markings, too :)

As you can see, I've done the leg mod. I've also modded his waist, so he can turn more to either side. The Sunstorm decals on the base were designed by sodawilly and made by Repolabels; props to them.

:pfx what he said.

Absolute best looking Sunstorm I've ever seen. Not just MP, no all Sunstorms, be it custom or official.

I actually really like this color. Looks more realistic then the official orange. Can you tell what color this is?

I also like the flame patterns. It really fits the character. I would so absolutely buy this if hastaktom released it.

Very amazing job.

I like the gold..I always assumed they had him those colors in the comics simply because they couldn't really put out a nice gold, so went with that offish orange/yellow look instead. But the gold really does work for him. How easy is he to take apart? Or did you keep him together mostly?

nice paint app, but i don't like the gold.

That looks brilliant. I especially like the unique designs on the wings. That is one mighty fine job Mr hairy hand man! :P

Thanks for the comments, guys!

Rawhide: the colour is Homestyle's antique gold; Zellars' carries it.

Sami: I completely dis-assembled him.

Here's one more pic...my current Seeker armada.
