the great reformatting was after bw and bm, from what it can tell the decepticons surrendered for some reason and the autobots and decepticons lived in peace, well most many were given new more efficient robot forms and the maximals decided to explore and learn more about the universe.

thats about what i know and that megatron2 stole a ship and the golden disc with some renagade decepticons, oprimal and his crew on the axalon gave chase and the rest is history

yeah, in Japanese continuity you get Headmasters, Masterforce, Zone, Victory, etc up until Beast Wars takes place. Those images are from the Wreckers comic, made available first at BotCon and now OTFCC. In US continuity, we're given subtle hints. Apparently the Great War ended some time after the events in "Rebirth." The Autobots then go through a process similar to becoming a Micromaster. They get smaller bodies that are more energy efficient. And there's relative peace up until Megatron steals the Golden Disk and heads towards earth. Before this though, it's hinted that Galvatron returned to Cybertron, but was quickly defeated. After Beast Wars and Beast Machines, we get those con exclusive comics. Primeval Dawn leads into the Wreckers, which in turn leads into Universe.

BM Leads to Universe the Wreckers don't come into the picture until later.

From the comics and implications from BW, sometime after Rebirth, the Decepticons return and the war intensifies (as seen in the first page above).

 

Shortly after the Autobots and Decepticons stop fighting (resulting in the Pax Cybertronia alliance), descandants of Autobots and Decepticons (Maximals and Predacons) come into power. (I presume that the Maximals and Predacons are new beings prebuilt to the "Maximal upgrade")

 

From there, an unspecified number of years pass before the events of Beast Wars. Supposedly during this time several Autobots and Maximals leave to explore the galaxy, some not returning until after BM.

My thery

after the G2 Manga the tf's achieved "Peace" on Earth and Cybertron II with the Autobots being the winner. Most were upgraided to be more Feul efficiant and Beast Modes became the norm. Convoy became Hyper Convoy and split up the Matrix. He gave his generals the fragments, (ConvoyII, Lio Convoy, Big Convoy, Crow Convoy, and others we havn't heard about.) and before Total War broke out(BW Neo) gave some to the Predacons (The Galvamatrix).

BM Leads to Universe the Wreckers don't come into the picture until later.

Wreckers takes place during the events in Beast Machines season 2. The first issue even had Optimus Primal, Nightscream, and Megatron in it. And Universe takes place one year after the events in Beast Machines. And it's been revealed that Universe takes place in the 23rd century.

I mean the Wriekers aren IN the Universe comics yet.
