There are people out there that can do awesome transformer CGI, unfortunatly none of them will be working on the movie.

See, I interpreted this as meaning that there are WRITERS who could write a great Transformers CGI script and thereby make a great Transformers CGI movie, not that the CGI itself was bad.

to be fair if thier were they would need one hell of a reason to use dino modes rather then earth modes

You mean like they explained Skorponok's scorpion-like thingy mode? And how he never transformed? (Yes, it mentions something on his bio on the toy, but why not in the movie?) This, IMHO, is a prime example of "coolness factor" overriding "Transformer-like factor" when it comes to the mediocre writing for the first movie. (And I'm not saying that there haven't been beasty Transformers ever. There have. But they were never explained. Why would the Dinobots need to be explained?)

That, and the masturbation discussion. That one scene ruined it more for me than anything else. But I digress.

Dinosaur + Robots + CGI + bad attitude = lost of explosions + lost of action = ultra-high "coolness factor"

Yeah, I can see Bay doing it. And lying about doing it.

but scorpie could hide inside Black out thus having an earth mode and he was little more then a drone in the movie too

That links to a real article, FWIW. :tfgrin

:pfx

I'm actually a little relieved that they didn't use the Dinobots this time around. That would have been really awkward to try and fit into the script. Scorponok was unusual enough, so let's leave it at that.

Good call! Robots that turn into dinosaurs as a disguise? Stupid idea for a live action "realistic" movie.

Seriously. Giant insects would be better.

they could always do the shockwave spotlight thing....

although thats quite a bit of back story for a single movie.

Plus it would undercut the premise of the first film, which had Megatron crash landing on prehistoric Earth. What are the odds of two separate alien parties from the same race finding the same backwater planet and not knowing of each other?

idk, ask idw. i mean thats exactly what happened there...

honestly though, that'd be the only way that i can see of explaining why the dinobots have the modes they have.
