good... who gives a crap about seeing dinobots?

it's hard to convince someone how cool tf's are without the bumbleing "me grimlock" speach pattern

Now that the dust has settled, i think we can all agree that Bay's transformers the movie was mediocre at best.

Nope. sorry.

His stupid attitude and lack of transformer knowledge will only make part 2 that much worse.

Again, sorry, wrong.

Don't even get me started on the writers..

What? Is there something wrong with making Transformers what is was suppose to be (a summer action flick)?

There are people out there that can do awesome transformer CGI, unfortunatly none of them will be working on the movie.

I donno, the CGI looked like they best I've ever seen on the big screen.

Do you seriously think any bot in that movie looked better than this LInK?
I think not. They looked like mangled up tin foil. This is an old subject though, so i'll stop here.

Do you seriously think any bot in that movie looked better than this LInK?

Oh, God, yes. I am very grateful they didn't look that cartoony.

GOOD!!

to be fair if thier were they would need one hell of a reason to use dino modes rather then earth modes

You mean like they explained Skorponok's scorpion-like thingy mode? And how he never transformed? (Yes, it mentions something on his bio on the toy, but why not in the movie?) This, IMHO, is a prime example of "coolness factor" overriding "Transformer-like factor" when it comes to the mediocre writing for the first movie. (And I'm not saying that there haven't been beasty Transformers ever. There have. But they were never explained. Why would the Dinobots need to be explained?)

That, and the masturbation discussion. That one scene ruined it more for me than anything else. But I digress.

Dinosaur + Robots + CGI + bad attitude = lost of explosions + lost of action = ultra-high "coolness factor"

Yeah, I can see Bay doing it. And lying about doing it.

Do you seriously think any bot in that movie looked better than this LInK?

I agree. While that link represents a more "traditional" representation of TFs - I think having a great deal of movement of those kinds of CGI-model would have looked silly on the big screen - as it's hard to get fluid movement when 40% of your body mass is in your lower legs/feet. That was realized as far back as the original G1 toon, which is why their animated models didn't have proportions anywhere close to how the toys looked (and why the "scanned toy"-CGI models in Energon/Cybertron often looked goofy when moving).
