Yet another set of Classic Seekers (Finished?)

Recommended Posts

wow that is amazing I'd say if you have some spare SS SW and RJ toys repaint them that way they will all match and have the same details plus you can solve the paint apps on Sreamers face (or rather the lack of them)

Nice!!! I can't wait to finally have time to do mine...I have 3 Ramjets just waiting for me to do something.

The Thrust wings, are they G1 originals or customs (they look slightly bigger than Classic wings).

Also, what type of paints are you using?

  • Author

Yep they are G1 Thrust wings cut down & panel lined.the smaller tail wings are made from the fins off Classics Ramjet.

I use Citadel paints (Acrylics from Games Workshop)

It is really tempting to paint the others Blitz & if you think screamers lack of paint is bad,my Ramjet has splodges of gold all over his face.

Wow, these are all fantastic. I personally prefer Dirge to be darker (I just find it makes more sense for someone who tries to capitalize on fear) but that's just my opinion, and yours looks better than Botcon's. I agree with Blitz, you'd probably do well to go back and repaint Starscream, Skywarp and Ramjet in your style, just to have the full armada. Undoubtedly they'd look amazing too.

starscream definately, skywarp could pass with some lining as could ramjet.

loving the thrust and your dirge has helped me decide on how i shall finally paint mine.

yea repaint the other 3, they look awesome so far!

Awesome work! What is this "varnish" you use though? It doesn't seem to add any shine to the toys...is that intentional?

Cheers.

I use Windsor & Newton gloss varnish as a first coat (for protection & stops the acrylics fading)

And then i use Games workshop satin varnish as a top coat (offers little protection but takes some of the shine off the gloss.)

IRL they look a little more shiny.

I see. I need some sort of protective varnish or something when i dont use car paint as i havnt found anything suitable that doesnt have a shine to it. Where do you get this windsor and newton stuff?

Should have said that they are both sprays.

You can get Windsor & Newton gloss varnish from most art shops & some Wh smiths.

It ncomes in a small can for about £4

If you are thinking about using some test it out first, getting an even coat is a bit of a knack.

Please bear in mind that without the satin topcoat this stuff is MEGA glossy.
