Or maybe... Autonomous instead of Artificial.... yeah, going with that!

For Sumdac that is, not for Self.

Ok, maybe I'm cheating.

Oh, and "were not", not "was not" :P

Sumdac's :awsum Robotic Intelligent-being

Well, ok, so now we all know that Sari's a bot of some sort. So, let's get back to what "her" name might mean. An earlier post was wondering what SARI might be an abreviation for. I'm putting two bucks on... Self Aware Robotic Intelligence. Any takers?

BUT.... :eevil what if, seeing as this is a cartoon world, it's not an abreviation. What if it's an anagram? What if it's a phonetic anagram? Say these two words, back to back. Sari. Arcee. Quite sound-alikey, hmmm? The same phonetic enunciation is used in both names. Makes you wonder where they're going with this...

And yes, I remember that an Arcee was in an episode with Ratchet and Lockdown. Seems she lost her mind(memory, whatever). Maybe she and Sari will meet someday.

Ok, I admit it, I pulled "phonetic anagram" out of my butt. So what?

me and another couple guys called that way back in the thread.

Oh. Well then, crap, sorry I didn't completely read the entire 49 pages that are devoted to this subject. :eek

Perhaps Isaac Sumdac is a massive Dragonball fan and decided to follow on from Bulma's family where everyone is named after an article of clothing...

All families are theme-named in DBZ.

Saiyans: Food

Vegeta: Vegetable

Goku/Kakkarot: Carrot

Radditz: Radish

Broly: Broccoli

Gohan: Cooked Rice

Mr. Satan's family: demons

Mr. Satan: Satan

Videl: Devil

Videl's daughter Pan is part saiyan, and part human. Her name has the double pun of being both the name of a smaller demon/satyr, and the japanese word for bread: Pan.

Wow. I'd like to thank you two twist-ties for the images of Dr. Briefs. I am actually watching season 4 right now (just before Androids), and I now can't look at it without thinking of the British flag. :wtf

As for theory, hey, you may be right. I REALLY doubt it.

I just hope Sari grows up to look like the beauty beside her name in photos! :woot

Given the nature of all the other words used, I highly doubt the one for bread in Spanish is what her name was actually based off of :tflaugh

Though, to be painfully technical about it, the word "pan" for bread in Japanese did come from Portuguese missionaries forever ago - but it's still not Spanish :D

*ignore me, I'm a polyglot that knows too much about these things*
