Star Wars Transformers... ghey or ney

The idea of a piloted mecha is pretty cool if you mean the vehicles turn into a robot that a figure could actually sit in... that's kind of neat... if not a little odds since the SW universe actually already has piloted mechs like the ATST... but still interesting.

Changing the heads would be a very acceptable fix. As I said before... a ship piloted by two character also transforms into giant robots versions of those pilots... I don't know... maybe I'm missing the point here.

By the way, I never edit ANYTHING just to avoid hurting a frail ego. :thumb

Well, it was an intentionally half-assed edit... ;)

I'm sure everyone offended by my comments are also the first ones to protest anything else that uses what's basically a humorously over-used stereotype. Some people...

I was under the (perhaps mistaken) impression that the little figures that come with the SWTF can also sit in the cockpits when the toy is in robot mode.

Concept: okay (what the hell, why not)

Execution: craptacular

Truth.

50% truth. 100% opinion.

you are correct sir

the robot modes look like crap when they try to look too organic.

Like Beast Wars you mean?

The only SWTF I actually broke down and bought was Commander Cody, the ten wheeled tank thing. And to be honest, it's pretty durn decent. Its only significant issues IMHO are the obvious "Scout Trooper" head, and the rather odd and narrow hips.

All and all I'm about 1/2 and 1/2 on the line. Some of them are great and the rest are great fail. It's apparent to me that the same team that designs our regular line isn't on these. Also, the design team was given specific limitations by Lucasfilm and I feel that has helped to hinder things. I won't be bothers when the line tanks. This line is alot like Titaniums IMO as far as execution and end result.

Yeah. the Titaniums weren't designed by the normal TF team either.

However, the line is far from tanking. It's hugely successful with kids and collectors, despite the vocal bitching of some.

I have the Falcon...it's one of the few I own, and I think it's cool. They aren't executed perfectly, but most of them look cool enough to me.

The biggest reason I don't own more is because of the price point- SWTFs are essentially deluxe class figures, but they are sold at $15. This might also have something to do with the fact that they aren't produced by the Transformers division.

What the hell? people actually read the bios on the backs of toys? dude. who cares? fun toys is fun toys

also, if you want to debate weather transformers can be homosexual or not, there's multiple threads about it in INH.

I do. Just out of curiosity.
