Botcon Ratchet: Whats a fair price ?????

Recommended Posts

Just got Botcon ironhide, getting the seekers and just got springer but need Ratchet, now I've found one on ebay and its $500!!?!??!?!?!?! now this seems a bit excessive to me , I got a good deal on Ironhide who was $50 complete and I know he should be more but is Ratchet rarer ???

Any help would be appreciated as always!

Cheers

The Ratchet/Flareup Botcon 2005 souvenir set was limited to 500 peices. Ironhide came in the Convention box set and was available to all who registered for the Primus or Iacon (non-attendee) package, so Ratchet is probably more rare.

As for what a fair price is, I guess that depends on what you'd be willing to pay for it. I wouldn't pay $500 for a Deluxe-sized figure if it was gold-plated, transformed by itself, and walked around on its own.

But without those features ... nope.

As for Ratchet: I'm no collector so I don't value rareness. I'd pay a 100 bucks if I really wanted him. Nothing more.

In the end it's just a repaint. So geht the original figure, disassemble it and get it professionally painted if you don't find him for 100 or less! (my opinion)

he also had a new head not from towline

I'll second this.

Thanks guys! I was only entertaining buying it if he was super rare and it would be my only chance but after seeing your replies I'll save my money and leave well alone until one pops up that reasonably priced

i've seen a towline recently, i'm going to get it, my painting skills have improved drasticly since i attempted my own Ironhide and Ratchet

I rate towline highly its just the ratchet had a new head sculpt and I am seriously ghey for nearly G1 accurate Ironhide and Ratchet figs to go with the classics!

I'm right with ya, Red Three.

FYI, I've been seeing Towline at Dollar General in Universe packaging, for those of you wanting to go the repaint route. That may be old news, but I don't go in Dollar General all that much.

I would love to be able to pick up a towline just like that he was a real pain in the ass to get here, the only one I came across was missing his radar assembly :(
