Transformers' COLORS in the movie

Recommended Posts

I can't really think of any times when another *Transformer* was fooled by a TF in its alt mode. (There may be some though...)

Ironhide totally missed out on Soundwave being in the back of his van mode, next to Blaster... now that's just dumb.

im still wondering, does anybody know why they change form from armada to energon?, cause they didn't explain that in the cartoon.

They got tired of wearing the same thing day in and day out. Hygiene issues maybe.

Nah dude, the Earth vehicles was because the computer on board the Ark thought that the Earthen vehicles were the dominant life form on the planet.

Was it on the show that they said this or the comic book. All I remember is "EXPLORE! EXPLORE! REPAIR! REPAIR!"

It was the cartoon ... I thought it was funny. I also think it is funny that the transformers on cybertron looked just like they did after they were formated on earth except for their alt. modes, Jazz and bumble had all of thier car parts as robots and then turned into hovercrafts or something.. NOW as for the movie ....

I hope they try to keep the color schemes as close as possible.. I see Optimus not being brite red, but like a darker red/blue or maroon/navy blue... I also don't think it would hurt to let him resemble his armada version, but just a little. Now I hope that they start out with the great wars on cybertron .. I hope they show Ultra Magnus and Hot Rod and the movie crew and Show that they were left on cybertron ... I hope they take Hot Rod with them though to earth, he is a strong character. I HOPE THEY DON'T make bumblebee one of the "kids" and have him get lost on earth and have to, with the aid of spike or something, find his way home, like homeward bound or something. (i don't think that will happen). Make Megatron Black. He would look cool ( I have been stressing this for a while). I don't care how they do it, or maybe Really dark grey.. or pink ... I was kidding... Make him evil and sinister, and not like the cartoon where megatron could shoot at brawn or someone and still oddly miss even though he is right in front of them, then get picked up and thrown (yes by brawn) and retreat... yuck ... in the 80's anyone could pick up and through megatron, why?

Wih the TF color issue, Megatron definitely has to stay in his same scheme. Just Look at War Within, you'll see Megs in Tank Form with normal colors. Also, its very crucial for all the bots and cons to keep their colors cause thats what fans and poeple who remember our '80s idolizations for what they looked like.

HOPEFULLY the new movie will put to rest a lot of questions:

1) Why exactly do they transform? If it's to hide from us humans, then why did they transform on Cybertron? If they transformed into vehicles on Cybertron, who did they expect to be driving them?

2)Where do transformers come from? If they're all millions of years old, how can you have a youngster like Hot Rod in the same species as an "old timer" like Kup? Are 'bots like Hot Rod :tfgrin , Cheetor, Hot Shot, and Energon Inferno millions-of-years-old teenagers? How long does it take to "grow up"?

3)What's with the whole "spark" thing? Or are we just not gunna touch that one?

ALSO, if you've read the recent G.I Joe/Transformers crossover set in WWII, you'll see that 'Bots and 'Cons were bland in their coloring in their alt modes, but still retained colorful robot modes for things like their heads, arms, and any areas they had to hide in alt mode. Apply this to the realism they're shooting for in the movie, and it equates to Starscream's unique and recognizable coloring only showing through in robot mode... after all, we have to be able to tell 'em apart. But no crazy colors (they just do that to market toys anyways... who wants a bland looking car.... oh wow fun :tdown ) or :ab / :Dc symbols visible in alt mode. It defeats the purpose of disguising yourself.

I agree with the no flying in robot mode and no shrinking. It just raises too many questions. When you have to explain something away like "Oh, Prime's trailer goes into an alternate dimension, or teleports back to base", any intelligent person is going to think for about 5 seconds and ask, "If his trailer can 'teleport', why can't HE? Better if they just stick to reality.

Regarding alt-disguises:

In the newer shows I can recall a couple of times where the TFs detected another TF who was in alt-mode by energy emissions, etc. I think that this is more "realistic" considering they should have more advanced scanning technologies than simply visual detection.

Dreamwave's more modern take on Gen1 and WWI seems to indicate that the alt-modes are used primarily to give the robots increased mobility (either flight or as a wheeled/tracked vehicle), which makes some sense.

If the Transformers are capable of being damaged by standard human weapons (instead of being invulnerable as they were in the G1 'toon) then in makes sense for them to keep their Earth-bound activities somewhat clandestine - then the alt-modes will make them "robots in disguise".

I had read somewhere that Megatron wouldn't be a gun so hopefully he'll be a tank. A good colour to go with would be desert camo, it's realistic and not to far from his original paint scheme.(A light colour is what I mean) They do need different colours for the seekers or nobody can tell them apart. Starscream grey, Skywarp black, Thundercracker ?, I'm not sure what they could do with Soundwave, his alt. mode requires a size change or it's not believable, nor is the concept of shrinking so that's up in the air.

The cars can be anything as long as it sorta resembles their original colours.
