That's what I was thinking.  Jazz or Swipes wouldn't have a crappy car Alt. mode, it'd be some flashy sports car.

Unfortunately, I think it's fair to assume that no matter who they pick, it will be completely impossible to make everyone happy. Afterall, as has been stated, there is no way that we are going to see the original complete cast, as of the 1st episode of G1, from either the Decepticons or the Autobots. That being said, I think it would make the most sense to rule out what characters on both sides basically had no real useful purpose or function overall, during the first few episodes, and concentrate on what you are left with.

 

My suggestion on each side would be;

 

Optimus Prime - obviously

Wheeljack - without a scientist they don't make much an "exploration" team

Ratchet - well they do need someone to repair them

Bumblebee - plush toy in robot form

Jazz - too cool to leave out

Dinobots - without them the Autobots stand about a 0% chance of withstanding Devistator in even one fight

 

Megatron - again obviously

Starscream - no brainer, without him, Megs doesn't come across as half as cool

Soundwave - their best spy/covert ops agent

Rumble - played too many important roles in the first eps

Ravage - ditto

Devistator - true he came into the series later, but fans won't be happy without at least one combiner, and the battle scenes would be mindblowingly cool, especially against the Dinobots

A new Transformers movie...by primus im slow....well i hope they dont make it like the last couple of series...though i am liking Cybertron more and more...mainly cuz the toys rawk

I'd like to see the dinos and Devastator, but for the movies sake it might be wise to leave thm till a sequel, they'd need alot of time in the flick and in a first movie they need to develop all the character as much as possible

 

My idea for Dionots/Devastator fight

 

Constructicons merge. Devastator pulls out a gun and blasts an autobot, blowing ff a limb or something. Prime rushes in but is grabbed and thrown back. Prime pulls himself up and fires a shot. It hits, and a piece of metal flies off. Devastator laughs and fires at an autobot, killing it. devastator starts trashing the Autobots till Prime is only one on his feet(makes sense as he's the strongest). He tries to raise his gun but his arm locks. Devastator starts to approach. We hear a bellow. Scene shifts to the 5 dinobots( looking completely realistic, except all metallic and shiny) with Grimlock bellowing. Devastator ignores them and continues after Prime. He's knocked off his feet as Slag charges into him. Devastator rolls and punches Slag. Slag falls back and grimlock says something(dumb but funny) The rest of the dinos charge. Swoop fires missles which hit Devastators arm. Metal flies off. Devastator grabs Sludge and tries to crush him. Snarl swings his tail, knocking Devastator. Grimlock jumps on him and tries to bite his head off. Devastators eyes glow and he grabs grim lock and throws him at a charging Slag. devastor then stomps them both. Sludge transforms and starts fireing. Grim and Slag pull themselves up, make a joke and transform and start blasting. Snarl and swoop do the same. Devastatorhits Swoops arm, knocking it of. The dinos go beast gain. Fight goes on for a few more minutes, both sides very battered. Suddenly, Prime fires distracting Devastator. Th dinos charge and grimlock bits Devastators arm and manages to pull it off. Arm changes back to bettered robot. Robot crushed by Sludge. Slag fire blasts leg which melts. Snarl and sludge crush chest plate. Swoop destroys other arm. Devastator now immobile. Grimlock walks up, mkes smart arse comment and bites devatators head off

Devastator will likely be in a sequal, but I doubt we'll see the dinobots unless the franchise really takes off, like X-men or Spider-man.

I want to see the combaticons, they had the best personalities of all the combiner teams :drool

True. And with the U.S. military backing they might just opt for them. You'd never know, Bruticus may appear for the finale.

I don't care. Bio-mechanical Transformers is better than no Transformers.
