TFans' Official 'Transformers Movie' Thread

Recommended Posts

obviously someone hasnt seen star wars...i doubt megs is going to be a "jawa sandcrawler" sized tank...it would make the movie farfetched if megs could drive the length of a football field by moving 12 feet it would defeat the purpose of "robots in disguise"...even in g1 the seekers were in proportion to actual vehicles...i just dont think it will so big that a human will only come up a 1/3rd of the tread... remember in starwars the tread to the sandcrawler was double Lukes height if megs is that big than New york city is fort max

Move forward to our favourite year 1984, (this is where I may get opposition) St Helen goes bang, ship gets uncovered and off we go.

I look at the WW art and think, hmm they lost a lot when they came to Earth, seem weaker somehow. Less.

Mt. St. Helens' famous eruption occured in 1980. Not that '80 is any better than '84, because neither date would interest movie goers in 2007.

Just because TF's have Earth forms, doesn't mean they are limited to Earth functions of those forms. G1 Megs, for example, doesn't shoot bullets.

i don't care if he shoots rainbows, guns are still lame alt modes

A scientist -think 'The Professor' from Gilligan's Island- (Rachet)

I haveta take you on task on that notion. why does it haveta be ratchet, really? why not Perceptor! Sorry dawg, but that a description of PERCEPTOR not Ratchet. Ratchet is way different then that description, he's a party animal and a part time warrior, to change Ratchet to a absent-minded professor after 20 years would'nt be a viable option IMHO.

:tflaugh When the production team says the movie will have realistic vehicles based in reality, that kinda rules out any futuristic ANYTHING.

As for characters (core characters with actual speaking parts), look to X-Men as a model. Some characters had to be re-vamped (Jean Grey became Dr. Jean Grey) so that every character would be different and each would have their specific role or place on the team. Wolvie was the rebel berserker, Cyke was the square/leader (like Leonardo from TMNT), Jean Grey was the brains, Storm was ... um... Halle Berry with special effects (and modestly dressed, thank goodness).

A well rounded team has:

A leader (Optimus)

A brawler (Ironhide?)

A future plush figure the audience is intented to relate to (Bumblebee)

A scientist -think 'The Professor' from Gilligan's Island- (Rachet)

A cool guy (Jazz)

and a few supporting characters... mind you that only 2 or 3 characters total will be major lead characters, so that's Op's, Megs, and maybe 1 or 2 others. More than that and it turns into "Batman & Robin" with heroes and villians for every day of the week.

unfortunately as far as i know they haven't taken away from the bill the token female character (arcee)

All I want is Peter Cullen and Frank Welker NOBODY BEATS THEIR VOICES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
