Calling them cameos or even references are misleading, though.

I HIGHLY doubt that those working with the movie gave even a tiny bit of thought about the fact that Energon Superion's limbs resembled A-10 Warthogs. At very most, they likely chose the vehicles first, and later on eventually said "Hey, there's a Transformer of this guy. Cool."

Just sayin'.

NO YOUR WRONG, THEY ARE CAMEOS, HASBRO LOVES USE DAMNIT!!!!!!

-the city where the battle takes place is clearly a reference to Metroplex.

:lol

Sarcasm wins yet again.

A WoblinGoblin is spotted on the airbase in Quatar, Cybertron Soundwave. A Warthog(FU OK 2) is attacking Skorpy, Cybertron Wingsaber is a heavily modded Warthog. You see quite a few of the G1-Cyb IRL vehicles throughout the movie. That could be a nod or guess what THEY CHOOSE FRAGGIN POPULAR VEHICLES FOR MOVIES, AND HAS/TAK CHOOSE POPULAR VEHICLES FOR THEIR TOYS... eeeshh We know that the movie producers put these things in for us to be all warm'n'fuzzy over, and no doubt just by luck we got a couple of extras in as a bonus by mistake. Think about it when you are getting cars ready for a movie of this size you have a wishlist, Say 75% of those you get will be your choices. The rest will be vehicles that were popular enough to be used in other movies, and if they are popular enough that movie studios use em as extras then they will certainly be popular enough to exsist as a Transformer. Hell look at the Energon Bruticus tanks, those are REAL http://www.army-technology.com/projects/tunguska/ so dont be supprised if vehicles that are Transformers in toy form appear purely by chance or by choice in future movies...

The difference being that Arcee had been designed for the movie prior to production; the others are made-up robots based on random movie vehicles.

Allspark Power'D

Actually I recall Wreckage was supposed to show up in the movie under the moniker of Striker or some nonsense. There's a youtube video out there some place with pre production sketches.

"Stryker" is the M1126 vehicle's actual name.

I doubt the toy would have had the same name, so perhaps they would have called him "Wreckage" after all.

The Motorcycle in the movie was just that a motercycle It wasnt Arcee, so dont get all moist over It, I just hope they dont think about putting Arcee in the next movie that would probably ruin it.
