BT/Alt Grimlock

I think its a great idea. It gives the designers all kinds of options when they sit down to work on a new car license. They aren't limited by car design or previous character incarnations. The entirety of G1 is open to them and they can create something really new, like Grimlock the Mustang.

Okay, I’ve slept it over, rechecked the pictures a thousand times, and you know what…he’s started to grow on me. Of course, I’ll have to see the final product before I’ll make a definite decision whether I really like him or not (has nothing to do with buying, because that I will do no matter what).

I think Dreamwave’s War Within redesign of Grimlock as a tank has helped in accepting this stray of the one true path (vomit). Every Grimlock-figure so far has been a dinosaur so making him into a car is a somewhat radical change. Nevertheless, there are apparently several nods to his original G-1 design (the legs, the face and the possibility of the sword -- although, it appears to be a somewhat stubby sword). Let’s hope they give him good colors, preferably gray as main color, with some gold, black and red.

The one thing I don’t like about this design is the chest. This will be the third mold in which the hood of the car becomes the shoulders/chest. I would’ve liked it more if for this one they would’ve altered this into…well, like G-1 Sideswipe/Red alert had. In case of Grimlock they could’ve made that his back, with a chest (the bottom of the car) more resembling his G-1 form -- in which case they can color that gold without disrupting the look of the car.

If anything Grimlock resembles power and making him a powerful American Muscle car like the Mustang Suits him. So G1 purists get over it it works who cares if hes not a Rex.

hope this works

I think the car front should fold out into wings leaving the chest emptie for Don's WWI desing.

Yeah, but then we'd run into having a big split down the hood. If at all possible, it's best to avoid that, in my opinion. And Yes, I know Tracks has it, and I wish they could have made the hood be one piece somehow to hide it like they did with Swipe.
