Worst Mistake You Made When Buying Toys

Buying RID Optimus Prime without trying it out first. Luckily I kept the receipt.

n00bs and Optimus Prime should NOT exist!

Fixed.

Fixed.

Please disregard, I liked Armada.

Yes.... when all else fails, blame "n00bs".

Fixed again, and I accept your apology.

And, having thought about it further, I would have to say my WORST mistake had nothing to do with buying toys - it had to do with an act of good will. In 1996, having decided that I no longer wanted or needed my childhood toys, I gave a poor family in my neighborhood all of my transformers and my old videogame consoles.

Yep - I regret that decision now.

Ten-years and several-hundred dollars later, I regret that decision.

Titanium Soundwave. I bought Titanium Rodimus Prime, and awash in his glory was deluded into thinking that the titaniums were (all) good. Boy, did I get learned a lesson.

I also wish I'd taken better care of my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Technodrome. That thing was awesome. I love putting stickers on toys, and that mofo had a huge-ass label sheet. Unfortunately I left it at my grandparents', they put it up, I never asked about it and they gave it away to some church garage sale.

The Incredible Crash Dummies were cool, too. My favorite was the one in the purple suit whose head, arms and legs popped off. I had the motorcycle, the airplane, and some dentist chair thing that you could strap the figures to. Damn, they were fun.

I still have all of the above (minus the airplane which I never had, and a few of the purple one's [spin] limbs). Plus the base for the Crash Dummies. Many hours of playtime with those.

On the same note with the Turtles, while I still have the Technodrome in pretty much perfect condition, I wish I took better care of the Turtle van. Pieces are missing, the door is broken, etc. Still, can't bring myself to part with it.

Titanium Soundwave...what a complete and utter waste of my $25 Paypal gift certificate for winning one of the Movie Metal Clash rounds..

Can we just agree to disagree? I mean, TASTES VARY, shock of shocks! I own RiD Prime, but he's a pretty lousy toy...Omega Prime is a display piece pure and simple...knock Armada all you want, but the Ratchet joint coming back into full swing means that guys like Unicron don't have the same arm or leg issue that Omega Prime does.

My worst mistake was not buying Alt Camshaft when I saw him.......that or not hiding him better.

i've hidden many figures to come back and find them gone.....

Energon Kicker.......

I've never even tried to hide a figure - I've always assumed that someone just as determined as I am will locate it, even if I hide it in the back of the silverware section.

They will find it.

Scalpers and desperate Transformer fans should join the CIA - we'd have found Osama Bin Laden by now if he had an Alt Swerve.

i hide tf's alot and come back and always find them right where i left them. the only times i havn't has been after a week or so and the sections have moved around. my favorite sections are crafts and automotive, sometimes clearance depending on how full of crap that it is.

i regret not buying an alt swerve or a couple extra alts. i also have a bunch of ebay regrets about not pouncing when i should have. my biggest regret however is not taking care of my childhood toys, not just transformers but all of them. thundercats, ninja turtles, g.i. joe, voltron, transformers, sliverhawks, etc... i had alot of Powerglideing toys and i always took them outside, played with them in the bath, and eventually broke most of them. now i'm stuck buying them back.
