I dunno, it's a toy, and I can't ever really finish my repaints.

 

The only one I ever did in full (and this was before I discovered the online community dedicated to the artform) was my Showtime/Wedding Beetlejuice figure that I painted at 4am on an OCD kick...

 

First, I washed the mouth (with thinned black acrylic and a q-tip), painted the sideburns and hair root mold (stripped q-tip and mixed colors, and scrubbed off the highlight with a warm water-soaked q-tip), and used another stripped q-tip to clean up the eye paint apps to make it more accurate and add subtle light reflections...

 

And no, I don't have a thing for q-tips, it was just 4AM, and Toon Disney was playing really dumb cartoons while I was surfing that weekend, and I just looked at the old figure WAY too long (apparently)...

 

So.. yeah, I'm out there that way...

 

 

But you seem to have done a good job, very clean, and all the details came out nicely. I didn't paint ol' BJ (remember when we didn't giggle at his name abbreviation?) b/c I wanted to show him off, I just did it b/c I wanted to make him better in MY eyes... so keep doing what you love.

I hope somebody at Hasbro is watching this thread - that's a great colourscheme and nice homage to boot.

And, I hate those people almost as much as scalpers. If I don't like something, I leave the thread. I don't spread poison.

 

He had a good idea. He implemented it when I chose not to. If Hasbro does this, I'll buy it.

 

However, (my opinion is that) Jin Saotome is the best painter out there, but I would still have a problem if Jin touted his work as "amazing" or "kick@$$". Let others make that decision.

Looks great, it's about time someone tried this. I've been trying to find a second one to do it myself, but no luck around here.
