Transtech

Recommended Posts

I have heard a little about Transtech being tossed around, and all I can gather is that it was an aborted toyline. Can anyone tell me more about it?

It's too bad this never happened.

EDIT: IMPORTANT: The link to the concept sketches in the following post for TransTech contains some sort of TCP probe designed to search your system for weaknesses for hackers to exploit. This is what Norton Internet Security told me, and it said that for warnings of this sort there are no false positives. Proceed at your own risk! You have been warned!

Its too bad. Some of the images are pretty interesting.

I'm sure TT would have been an awesome line. I like the designs so much I produced a logo for it: http://www.seibertron.com/creative/artwork..._1075335405.jpg

There's also several TT character designs of mine on my site (see sig).

TransTech was intended to follow on from the events in Beast Machines. The series would have reimagined our favourite characters as hi-tech futuristic vehicles (though still with suggestions of the animals in their designs where appropriate). Several concept drawings have appeared and at least one prototype toy was produced. Air Attack Optimus Primal was also concieved as part of this line and we all know that he finally appeared as part of RiD. Click on the links below to see (all pics hosted by the Benelux Transfans Association)...

edit: I'll re-emphasize Donkeystyle's post since I have had warnings from my own security program although I haven't been the victim of any kind of attack. It's entirely possible that this is where the initial problem came from...

Sorry if I've passed anything on to anyone - this is the first time I've been told about this. *hastily departs to add warning to other forums where these links have been posted!*

I had big hopes for the Transtech series, unfortunately Armada won out and Transtech was trashed.

I guess Transtech was to complex for some executives to understand, and thus concluded that children wouldnt be able to follow it.

HASBRO/TAKARA give us Transtech!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TransTech was aborted because of the commercial and critical disaster that was Beast Machines. It was supposed to bridge the divide between Tech-Organic animals and vehicle transformers, a 3rd arc of the Beast storyline. However, it is my personal sneaking suspicion that some of the Energon figures are from TransTech. I have no proof, but Mirage has simliar stlyings to TT Starscream, and Sharkticon is *exactly* what that line was stated to be. Plus, they just both give off a different "vibe" than the rest of the Energon line-up. Unfounded speculation? Probably. But think about it for a second before disregarding it. :P

Hmmm... could be on to something there...

Yeah, Mirage and Sharkticon look gundam-ish esecially in the legs.
