To swap the battery all ya have to do is unscrew him again, yep, I made sure the plastic disc on the back didn't obscure the screws.

Hey Jin, Did you figure a way to keep the watch stabelized on your arm? Wanted to know if the latch is stable enough to keep attached to your wrist or will he fly off when I wave "hello" to my friends? ^_^

i had a few questions in the news area post but i will ask them here as well

 

why do you need to take him apart from the back when it looks like you can pry off the face and then just cut down the blue ring i ask this since i want to give it a go and i don't have any heating devices

 

have you seen the transforming watch with the megs and prime wrist bands and the face that can change faction logo? if so is it the right size? since i think it could ad a cool gimmick to the toy

Dude! I just picked up a Meantime last night and finally noticed a detail I was not expecting. The bot that transforms into a wristwatch... is wearing a wristwatch!!!! I didn't even notice it when looking at the repaints.

 

It's very tiny on his left wrist and turns in when in watch mode so you can't see it there. Not counting the weird Japanese Racoon bot with a working alarm clock in his tummy/chest from Beast Wars Neo (I think) this may be a first. Does anyone else know of any other TF with bling??

FWIW, I think simply prying the face off might break something you don't want broken. Def. gonna try this mod, I even have a decent old watch available. Free mod!

That would be a cool but expensive mod. Just picture it, Meantime arrives on the scene and says "I will help you!" You look up and see the Autobrand he turns looking at a D-Con flashing them his Deceptibrand cooly turning back to you, "This way" gestures around a corner and starts hopping up stairs. Then you arrive at your destination, right infront of the D-Cons gun on full charge. "Times up" BLAM!!

I just loop a rubber band or elastic hair tie through the holes and loop either end around the ball-post to keep the watch around my wrist.

You can definatly try to pry the outer part of the face off but each time I did that, the whole face would come off or the pin would become loose and the watch face would swing around. I've seen the G-shock ones (that look waaaay too retro/cheap for my tastes) but not the transforming ones.
