I think the meaning of the word "Classics" says it all. Anything that came out after G1's heyday could be excluded IMO. Even though I hate some 1984-1985 characters, I can't say "no they shouldn't be Classics". Even 1986 and 1987 were full of characters that have since become fan favorites.

I just thought I'd bump this particular post and rub in your face the Sky Lynx reissue.

 

I have to admit, a modern Sky Lynx would be cool... Perhaps each one of his halves would could be a triple changer?

 

Only suggesting a robot mode in there because other people would probably want one... I'd like to see how they'd do the two halves having their own transformations just by themselves.

Nothing you can say will reduce the unmatched suckiness of Sky Lynx.

personally i don't think there should ever be any classics of tfs who haven't had a significant role in tfs, it's a shame that the nightbeat isn't going to be a general release with a new mold

but significant would really limit those characters eligible... i only want the ones that were significant to my childhood like perceptor and dive dive (whoops a gobot made the list)

 

i'll say it again, any figure that has had an alternator or a decent homage in recent years in other line should be moved to the bottom of the priorities list

 

examples : sunstreaker (alternators), Sideswipe (same), Wheeljack (both alternators and energon downshift), skids, shockwave... many others...

 

the minibot's should be the priority in my opinion... look how well they improved bumblebee over his g1 form...

That's a good point... although I think a lot of people are going to want these characters to be in the same line, or at least be able to pass for being in the same line. I hear you with the Alternators thing, but I'd still love to see a Classics Hound or Jazz or (jizz) Smokescreen.

Alternators are dead. I hate to say it cause I'm one of there biggest spokes ppl. But they are still dead. Classics should keep doing what they are doing cause I dont want a bunch of After movie bots and no name guys like Power Dashers and such. I Do think that Decepticons should get as many figs as Autobots. Even if they dont combine, The 5 combaticons is great to me.

The ONLY things i DONT want to see in classics are:

Pretenders,Post g1-crap (except maybe some beast wars),combiner bots without the rest of their team or without the ability to combine. (i'm looking at you,crap alternators.)

And i think wheelie deserves a new mold. his G1 toy was hideous,his speech pattern ridiculous. but he looked pretty cool,and i'd give him the gay kiss of acceptance.

I personally think I could go on just fine without anymore G1 retreads/classics but I know I'm in the minority so they'll just keep on coming.

 

We don't need Warpath, Beachcomber, Seaspray, Blaster, City bots, Hoist, Grapple, Stunticons, Protectabots, Arial bots, ets.

I need all of them to recieve the Classics treatment. Knowing what can be done now, I'd love to see what will be made. If Cosmos can be made to look totally cool, I'm waiting to see what they'll do to redeem someone like Wheelie. ^_^

aww...I think they could really fix up Broadside and Trailbreaker! I'm in the process of buying the Reprolabels labels to convert movie Ironhide into classics trailbreaker. but as for most of the minibots...meh. they don't need them.

i'm not saying bring back alternators (as much as i'd love it) i'm just saying i don't want the same characters in product line after product line after line after line after line after line....... g1 made it 8 years befor they started using the same charaters over again... maybe that had something to do with what killeed them but i like the concert variety of g1. headmasters, gestalts, clones, cassettes, jumpstarters, triplechangers... all i'm saying is if the figure has had a decent homage in the last 5 years skip it in favor of something more obscure like classics wingspan and pounce...
