TiT Ultra Magnus

Recommended Posts

Finally I have found him. And I Think he is really cool. Looks like UM in both modes, they really did a good job with the look of this figure. Now there are some issue that come with being a titanium figure and those are forgivable because you know what you are getting with this line of toys. However, the knees really stand out as mistake and not just a assembly mistake. They bend 1 notch the correct way and almost 90 degrees the wrong way. and the detail on the legs and possition of the screws make switching the legs not a real option. I am able to get past that little imperfection which leaves me with only one more beef all be it a tiny one. there isn't a place to store his gun in alt mode. which to my knowledge is the only titanium figure to have this issue.

Overall I still am really happy with this figure

oh and his gun actually does fit tightly in bot mode, unlike what is stated in the UM review on TFormers. its designed to fit in his hand and pinch onto his fingers.

I like mine. Nice little fig. But yeah I am not going to miss the Titanium line at all.

if they seperated each product theme from the other.... spiderman, tf and sw.... i'm sure they'd see that tf was the most profitable... i'm sure the other two are bringing down the whole Titanium catergorie... i always see lost of spiderman.. a few sw and 1 tf.... do they all come in one package or can retailers order tf only?

I've never seen Tf titaniums roiting on shelves, unlike some alternators, classics, and main line. This has to be all about the production cost. for me Titanium were always cool because of inovative design and great character selection if they migrate these type of figure to plastic and put them with classics 2.0, i'd be fine with that.

The Scourge/Optimal Optimus wave shelfwarmed pretty badly last holiday season, but other than that I'd say they moved OK - those two characters were probably the least popular and having them be the principal wave at the time of the holidays was a bad move on Hasbro's part.

Hasbro did say that they cancelled Alts and 6' TiTFs because of poor sales and cost of parts, perhaps it is more the latter that did in the 6" TiTFs.

Not to second guess the "professionals" or anything - but Hasbro does seem to have an uncanny nack for this.

I love Magnus Titanium! :tftongue

hmmm i highly doubt that they will make the 2.0 classics the new titanium because the whole concept of titanium is for display not for play. and plus the molds that theyre using for titanium are exclusive to titanium only, meaning that theyre brand new molds not refurbished molds

:) :) Yeah, I agree that gun is securely tight into the hand in contrast to the TF review. As for the knee, it would probably work better if they reverse the back to the front.

Overall, it's a great figure.

Yeah I love my Ti G1 UM lots and lots and lots and lots! And I love Titaniums in general. I totaly agree there are all sorts of faults with design/construction. But there's something about the fact they're METAL, just makes 'em feel right! As others have rightly said the character selections have been good and generally for all the faults may slightly spoil the figs, the overall design of them makes up for it IMO.

Ultra Magnus is one of the best in the line. His styling is excellant, particularly the head sculp. The knee thing is a prob, but I reckon it can be fixed. Just not enough red in robot mode and his alt mode just feels alittle floppy.

But I for one morn the passing of Titaniums more than Alternators. As display pieces they're awesome. Just hope to the Sweat Lord they give us Prowl, Skywarp and Grimlock.
