Stormjet and Steamhammer!

Recommended Posts

I'm not really feelin' Steamhammer... that alt mode looks weird w/ such tiny treads, and his torso is too bulky in robot mode (due to his gestalt mode I'm sure.)

Unfortunately, I think these are photoshopped. Look at the faction symbols. Nice colors though.

No, they're just hand painted. If this was photoshop, they would have done a better job on the insignias, I would think.

Plus it has the standard swapped-color logos that are on most prototypes.

Thank goodness. I think that there are too many JETFIRE influenced colors. I hope that STORMJET gets a nice solid black color mixed with light blue to go along with the other basic ARIELBOT. would make him look more or less like a Stealth Bomber or a rocket. :tftongue

The final product may be to my liking, but what I can see now I think I'll pass on these figures. I think Stormjet's wings are to small and there's too many robot parts visible.

Steamhammer looks bad@ss with that shovel in his hand. Storjet is growing up, but i need to see the whole thing completely combined.

At least hasbro is listening. Finally gestalts are back with a vengeance.

Drop the constructacon-theme and do something else for cry out loud. Generation 1 is 13 years ago, get over it.

If Hasbro decided to use the constructicon theme is because it still sells good. Besides energon is full of homages so it is logical to have a devastator homage.

But i do agree that we need to see a new gestalt subgroup, not just reinventions of the original g1, nothing wrong with that but I know hasbro still has some fresh ideas left for energon.

Well, G1 did do a lot of different gestaults. tell me, what could they do in energon that's not Construction, Military, Race Car, Airplane, crazy technobots whatever the hell they were, monsters, sea monsters, predatory animals...not to say that's all there is, but they did cover a lot of ground. we know the new dinos will be halfsies, not a combiner. We just did trains in RID. so i mean really, would you REALLY mind a new, nice looking Menasor (please?? Hasbro??)? or the Dev, Brut, and Supes that are coming out? i say bring em all on.

:pfx i cant recall any thing they dint cover and each new team some times got to have a opposing team terrorcons vs technobots and protectobots vs combsticons for example

Oh but I can, I can think of some gestalt themes that havent been touched:

We need an all off-road vehicle combiner team. Thats what I'd design. It'd be 5 vehicles, 4 deluxe size, and one slightly bigger but most of the bulk would come from its huge tires, for something about the size of Predaking. Naturally I have some ideas for vehicles, and Im going to keep with the theme of futuristic vehicles that arent based on real trucks:

There needs to be at least one thats lifted up with pretty big tires, a ton of lites and a fat brush guard. A real off road badass. Naturally, it needs to be a shorter wheelbase, open bodystyle Jeep-type vehicle. You cant have an off-road theme without this, and naturally it should make up the torso section.

At least one good pickup truck needs to be there as well. Something like Kup just wouldnt do it, Im thinking more like Ransack's (minicon) alt mode looks the part.

You need an SUV to cover that vehicle type. A bodystyle like Armada Red alert would do. This and the pickup would make good legs.

And finally, some arms would be needed, so Id say a sandrail much like E-Cliffjumper would be good and a traditional dune buggy like Ruckus (triggercon) would round this dude out nicely.

How about an all recreational vehicle theme? We'll go with the jeep type rig for the body again, then the limbs could be a dirt bike, a jet ski, an ATV, and a snowmobile.

OR, an all motorcycle gestalt team.

And finally, what about when the smaller dudes combine, its not a humanoid form but something like a giant wolf, dragon, or bird? That's not been done before.
