What do you want from a Transformers cartoon?

Recommended Posts

Something that has little or nothing to do with Optimus Prime, or any well established characters. I want to see someone new.. I mean you can give nods to these guys, have em show up now and then maybe.. but I'd really rather see a new set of guys.

Well written characters would be good. Something that will atleast keep you guessing as far as how character X will act to a given situation. It doesn't have to be like tradgic shakespear or anything.. just somethin interesting..

Animation style really isn't all that important to me. I think I like 3d better for Transformers, just because of the nature of it all.. but it's really not that important. But being we're talking animation here.. and this isn't the land of the rising sun (in many ways, thank god) .. a cartoon will only be aimed at the younger audiences. So in a lot of ways, it's really kinda redundant..

I guess in short, I just want another beast wars. :redface .. someone get those writers and have em sit down and get back on it. :tftounge

I don't care what animation style they use as long as it looks good.

I want the Decepticons to break the mold of either a) complete moron that just says his name over and over again or yodels or talks in a stupid hill-billy accent (in fact, get rid of accents all together) or b) a usurper to the throne. And I really don't want to see a Decepticon turn into a good guy because of the human cast or something. I can see one not wanting to be a murderer, but one that starts to make friends with kids? No thanks.

Humour.

:blaugh I have to agree with who ever said a continuing of Gen 1 Season 2, and showing events that could lead up to... dare I say it... a new transformers animated movie. So we can see where all these new transformers AKA Springer, Arcee, Magnus came from. I'm not like other Gen 1 purists who absolutely hate the post movie characters. I do like Galvatron as a reincarnation of megatron though. I don't think he should be his own character. I absolutely get sick to my stomach when I see anime though. I can tolerate it. I feel like I'm watching transformers meets pokemon. The new series I will give it a "spin" but I'm sure I'll hate it. Also we need deeper plot points like The New JLU series had. And lastly please, please, please for the love of all thats good and holy no animation flaws like the orginal Gen 1 cartoon!!!!! :tfevil

IMO, G1 had typical 80's animation...not bad, but with all the stupid palette swaps is it??? the thing where starscream is speaking 1 second and hes thundercracker, or they'll show optimus prime's upper body all blue......weirdBeast Wars had excellent story telling and great characters.....pretty much most episodes in each series tied together towards the finales of the respective seasons, and IMHO Beast Wars had a much better overall story, there was always that typical 80's cartoon plot of each episode: Cons attack something, Bots find out they gotta stop the Cons, etc, only in the more than 1 part episodes tied together, BW had u asking questions all 3 seasonsRID: Never seenA/E/C: too many super combining modes, and just wasn't interesting, save for the end of Armada with Unicron's Re-BirthIn Conclusion, we will prolly never get another G1, nor another BW, but hell it settle with G1 characters with BW story telling and animationIMO, G1 had typical 80's animation...not bad, but with all the stupid palette swaps is it??? the thing where starscream is speaking 1 second and hes thundercracker, or they'll show optimus prime's upper body all blue......weirdBeast Wars had excellent story telling and great characters.....pretty much most episodes in each series tied together towards the finales of the respective seasons, and IMHO Beast Wars had a much better overall story, there was always that typical 80's cartoon plot of each episode: Cons attack something, Bots find out they gotta stop the Cons, etc, only in the more than 1 part episodes tied together, BW had u asking questions all 3 seasonsRID: Never seenA/E/C: too many super combining modes, and just wasn't interesting, save for the end of Armada with Unicron's Re-BirthIn Conclusion, we will prolly never get another G1, nor another BW, but hell it settle with G1 characters with BW story telling and animationPS Whoever needs to find ideas how Transformers can be more "better" than they are look back to......BEAST WARS!!!!!

I want it to be realistically drawn (none of this abstract Star Wars Clone Wars crap) well animated and essentially an updated version of the gen1 original. It seems to me with all these "Dexters Laboratory" type offerings that people have forgotten how to do proper animation. In fact the only cartoon that has ever been any good abstracted was the first Batman series.

Also I agree with those that reckon there is too much copying of the "pokemon" type "powering up" in cartoons these days.

And please lose the "lesson for the day" crap and the "obligatory everyone laughing ending" Even Knight Rider used to suffer because of that.
