Takara Encore Transformers

Recommended Posts

I would get them if you don't have any other versions. I don't thin they canged any of the mold, like they said they ewere going to. lying Powerglideers.

Got a source that they ever claimed this? I'm pretty sure it was nothing more than a rumor the whole time.

Very true but it is a step down on the reissue line. Prime deserves his Ax like the takara reissue 00

Why should Prime come with the axe? These aren't "definitive" versions--they're reissues of the toys as they originally were, with minor changes. I think the axe is overrated, anyway.

One episode, people. ONE.

So do you peeps prefer these over the Takara bookstyle reissues from years ago?

I definitely do... they feel more authentic

Maybe, but since these are reissues I prefer something new and the bookstyle makes storing them very easy and classy too. The other packaging is a pain in the arse and takes up too much space.

It's just wacky that prime didn't come with the remolded head that music label prime had. I mean I'm all for reissues, but it would have been nice to have the variant.

ya rly. Encore prime should've had the iPodimus Prime head, the New Years Prime blue windows & matrix, and Collection #0 axe, along with the heat-stamped labeling. IMO of course.

I for one am glad they didn't use the new head or give him the blue windows. This is a remake of the first Prime, the one my grandmother bought my older cousin who in turn gave it to me. Nostalgia, man. Yes, the new stuff would have been neat, but then it wouldn't be "Encore;" it'd be "Cartoon-Accurate Ultimate Version Convoy 2.0" or something.

I'm just saying sometimes less is more.

And this way they've still got reason to put it out again (and you know they will) and get the same bunch of people who bought this reissue to want that one too! :-S

I just ordered mine from Ages Three And Up... didn't need the Megatron, so I got the other 3 shipped to Florida for $150 total. It's about the best price to be found anymore. I'll probably get Ironhide and Ratchet from them too. They're good guys up there.

that prime has been released 3 times in the last four years, what's wrong with updating him?

My barrel plug was really easy to remove, BTW.

Where'd you get yours? Mine came from BBTS, and the plug was a Starscream to get out. I wasn't able to pry it out externally, I had to half-transform the figure and force it out from the opposite end. The Blotty orange paint they used flaked everywhere, and I was unable to remove the excessive glue, which has proven resistant to solvents and is still noticeable just inside the barrel. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in BBTS' handling of this reissue, and I would strongly dissuade others from purchasing Encore Megatron from them, should additional units become available.

That's funny. I got mine from BBTS as well. Maybe they just did sloppy job on mine because it was extremely easy to get out. There was a tiny bit of adhesive (looked and felt kind of like rubber cement) left in the barrel that I had to remove, but that was it.
