I think hasbro knows what paint is capable of, they just can't do anything nearly as detailed or else have to charge ten times as much for a figure. Unfortunatly paint apps are the first thing that get cut when the budget for a figure line rolls into view. Yes, that's not the best way to make figures, but in the TF case not that many people care as all the figs sell anyway. I'd love to see a 'Masterpiece' line for collectors. Same figures but with top-notch paint apps, way more expensive but collectors would be willing to pay for that.

Those are great Jin... Right when I decided I wanted to some TF customs I went to the store and all they had was the Protoforms left... I didnt think much could be done with em but you proved otherwise... NICE

I hate to say this, but not even your amazing paintjob can save Proto SS :tfmad

Aw, no love for SS? Heh.

Then I'll make it up to you. Just wait till you see my next Protoform... and it's not prime or starscream...

If I were you, I would have chopped off the 'landing gear' of Starscream. Not only does that help store the butt-flap behind his back, but, more importantly, his 'vehicle' mode will actually look like a meteor(ite), instead of a mess of parts which happen to transform into a robot.

As for Protoform Prime, I would cut away the black headprotecter, in which you store prime's head in 'vehicle' mode. It is not very useful anyway, and by cutting it away, you can raise the panels on his back in robot mode, giving you the clearing for even more poses.

Both these alterations I did myself, by the way. One day, I will find myself with a proper camera, and I will make some pictures for all of you.

Will do, I like a 'meteor' Starscream since he's a flying vehicle anyway. I initally removed that black section under his head/on the back but had to re-install it because the head kept falling backwards without it underneath for support. Prime was always looking up at the sky, lol.
