How do you contact toy valley and how much are the figures?

Just got an email from my KO supplier, Toy Valley, and next up on the release list (end of September):

G1 WHEELJACK

G1 SLUDGE (repro Box is already available on Ebay)

G1 DEVASTATOR (Box available on Ebay as well)

G1 Minibot WARPATH

My perspective on the pricing issues is this: If you wanted to get a complete MISB version of these toys with perfect condition boxes (would that be MISMB?) from the original era of G1 (early 80's), you are going to pay a very high premium to acquire them, upwards of THOUSANDS of dollars for some pieces. I don't know about any of you, but I don't have that kind of spare cash just lying around!!

Now, factor in that you can get them for under $70 per piece if you look hard enough, then I don't understand the complaints about price. One thing that I have learned about dealing with Toy Valley is that you have to haggle with them, and you can usually get a good price if you are persistent. I actually have my Remake Mirage on it's way, and I only paid $50 for mine. I also ordered the Cliffjumper and Hubcap Remakes too to save on shipping costs.

The debate will continue to rage on about them being KO's or Remakes. AFA has mixed feelings about them, I've seen some returned as "NOT AUTHENTIC" and then at the same time they will grade them as "CHINESE REISSUES". Go figure :tflaugh

Anyway, screw Takara/Hasbro for not doing the line justice by not properly reissuing these. I'll support the remakes/bootlegs/KO's as long as the quality of the pieces continue to bring back all my childhood memories the way I remember them!!

I agree with herno.

I ll gladly get the same figures again if they do get official releases, but I m not holding my breath.

Yeah, screw you Takara and Hasbro for reissuing almost every pre-movie G1 figure and even some post movie favorites, some multiple times, some in show accurate repaints, and some that were entirely new. You've failed at this line for not reissuing a comparatively small number of figures that you never had any obligations to reissue!

but... these aren't KOs.

You know, just saying it doesn't make it true. They're unlicensed, illegal reproductions, you can use whatever colorful descriptors you want, they're still knockoffs.

Emerje

hi folks, i'm interested in some of these figures, but was wondering if there's a good online dealer that has them (cheap), or is jipbay the way to go?

Yeah, but do you really trust Chinese products? With all the recalled Chinese goods it wouldn't surprise me if these were lined with lead based paint. I am actually serious about this.

On an unrelated topic, China has just officially become the nastiest country on Earth:

Check this ABCNEWS story:

Wheeljack? Wow...

I'm going to have to keep a close eye on this..

Now, tell me.. how can they create a KO from a mold that's supposively broken? - Senses shenangins

takara made new moulds for soundwave from recasting them around parts from a G1 toy so if they got ahold of a few beater wheel jacks im guessing they could do it as well. and they don't copy it on other toys because they say its not worth the cost and theirs not as much demand (this was a few years back)

as for my views on these im not going to get them id rather spend the extra knowing what the quality will be

Right, and on top of that it took Takara and Hasbro both working together to get it done and even then it wasn't 100% G1 accurate. If I remember right they used broken Soundwave molds, Soundblaster molds, and some recast parts just to make him.

We all know how you feel about these Emerje, but the fact remains that Hasbro hasn't released a quality reissue of ANY of the G1's as far as I'm concerned. If you want to do a reissue properly, just look at MATTEL's Masters of The Universe remakes from a few years back. The packaging and figures were basically IDENTICAL to the originals, not some "Toys R Us" exclusive hash jobs in crappy flip open window boxes :tdown Why can't Hasbro follow their lead and do it right like these Chinese folks??

You can repackage a toy multiple times, change the colors, make them look like the damn cartoon or whatever and most non-collectors will snatch them up just because that's all that's sitting on the shelves. If Hasbro had any marketing sense they would take the lead on the popularity of the original line and do some REAL justice by re-releasing them in true G1 reproduction packaging.

I'm only buying memories here, not something I'm gonna actually play with or take out of the box, so I don't care if they are remakes, KO's or whatnot. If Hasbro truly cared enough about MY history with these toys, they'd quit screwing around and reissue these to look EXACTLY like the originals, right down to the boxes and artwork.

Then, Emerje, we wouldn't even be having this discussion now would we??
