I had my problems with the movie going in, but after seeing Primes lips, plus Megs and Starscream in motion, my fears were put to rest.

I don't have to defend the movie to you, because it's not even worth it. I enjoyed it immensely. As a movie, it was one of the best and most exciting films I've ever seen. As a TRANSFORMERS movie, it was even better. But that's just my opinion. Watch the movie breaking records across the world to see everyone else's.

It seems that everyone is settling for this half-assed crapola.

 

First, the designs. Who in the hell said that these dumb AmeriCANTS(as in can't-design-even-halfway-decent-mecha) could craft even remotely passable TF's? :tdown I mean just LOOK at these ugly monstosities!! Esp. Prime. He looks like some damn battlebots reject. He tf's into a damn flaming(damn, what a tired old cliche) Peterbuilt. To further insult this awesome character, you can see his innards(same for the rest of the characters). And to place the cherry on top of this sagrilegious, egegrious, down blasphemous redesign....he has a damn MOUTH.....wtf?!?

 

And as for the rest of the charas, the same can be said. Sorry, but these fugly things look like battlebots rejects crossed with proper mecha designs, only envisioned through the eyes of myopic american morons who through some horrific delusion, fancy themselves proper mecha designers :tdown And the way they move- or LUMBER, as the case may be - can seemingly be described as mechwarrior-meets-godzilla. Sorry, but that's LAME....

 

Sorry, but the folks at Takara who originally penned these characters designs waay back in the 80's had it right.....

 

And that brings me to yet another question, why in the heck didn't the idiots responsible for this cg-laced trash do the legwork and obtain the rights from Freightliner, Nissan, Porshe, VW, etc, to get the rights to portray their respective products in the flick?

 

And didn't that ADD-afflicted hollywood huckster Micheal Gay realize that some people actually expected Bumblebee to be a VW, rather than some butt ugly Camaro? That's just the problem, these overrated, unintelligent tinseltown nitwits actually think they can rewrite whatever doesn't satisfy them and ONLY them....and you sheep just buy it, no problem....

 

And forget the mechanical characters for a hot second....what the hell is with the real actors in this "movie"? They're all frickin' girlie men!! :tdown

 

Personally, I wouldn't have given a damn how the story turned out, as long as the TFs' were preserved in their First Generation glory. Just imagine, the REAL Prime/Convoy, Jazz, Prowl, etc, etc, etc, in full CG glory.....But instead this is what that LaLawood idjit Micheal Gay gives us.....and you just lap it up like some thirsty dog(or SHEEP as the case may be) :tdown

So wait, you're saying that we can't design robots, even when these were fantastic.

 

Dude, just accept the fact that some people will enjoy a movie, and some people (preferably, YOU) won't. No matter what you say can change their opinion, so why don't you just give it a PowerglideING REST? This movie wasn't supposed to be an exact replica of your precious G1, it was made with the idea in mind that the 80's robots would look crappy onscreen. Those who have raved about it obviously thought so. You may not like it, but coming out and attacking those who do isn't going to make you more respected, and it's definitely not going to change opinions.

152 Million box office is about a hundred more than I actually expected Transformers to score. Not that I didn't want it to secede I just wanted to be realistic about how much a live action Transformers movie directed by Michel Bay would actually make.

 

That said I didn't really have any doubts about the film & knew exactly what to expect going in. The level of intelligence in the script of Transformers really isn't much more/less than most science fiction properties so why the crying out it's too simple. Goki placed the script in between G1 & the comics which I would have to whole heartedly agree with. Not as smart as the G1/G2 comics but not nearly as dumb/painful as the original cartoon.

 

I still can't believe after seeing ILM accomplish what they have in terms of animation/complexity/human interaction people still cling to the belief the G1 designs would have been a better way to go. If you haven't kept up with all of this for the past two years & what not like myself as well as other TFan devotees you'd know Bay repeatedly said that the G1 designs were crafted tested but just didn't work in a live action setting resulting in laughable PR designs. Furthermore the Hasbro wanted the movie rushed & out last Summer based on what ILM already had set to go but Bay went the extra mile to make sure the film was made right & absolutely sure the effects/characters would translate realistically onto screen & nothing looked cheesy out of place.

 

If your problem with Transformers is the tone please do get over yourself. This was a kids movie that was supposed to have a light fun tone opposed to the more violent/gritty tones Bay is normally accustomed to. I personally applaud Bay for actually being able to lighen this to the level where kids/adults can enjoy it & not being nearly as heavy handed as he was in Armagedeon/The Rock/The Island.

He can't be new, because he is well aware of retcon terms like "G1" and the fact that the toys were designed by Takara, things a non-fan would simply not be aware of.
