i agree, it needed the funny moments. i'm sure we as fans would have LOVED a 2 1/2 hour war between the decepticons and the autobots, but we're very few in number. the funny moments broke the movie up nicely and helped keep the kid's attention i'm sure while giving the parents a few things to snicker at.

i had entertained purchasing a decent frenzy before seeing the movie (particularly the robot replica), but the movie made it a must have! they did that character PERFECT.

Frenzy stole every friggin' scene he was in. He is made of win, and he's adorable to boot.

 

So many moments made me chuckle...

 

"Goodnight, handsome man!" I about rolled out of my seat on that one. I've been there with my parents, we all have. lol

It's actually spelled Chihuahua, but that's just the vet hospital employee part of me speaking.

 

Anyways, I liked the whole thing with Ironhide, Sam and Mojo as well.

Ironhide: You have a rodent infestation. Would you like me to terminate.

Sam: No. No. This is a chihuahua. We love chihuahuas.

Ironhide: He leaked lubricant all over my foot.

Sam: Bad Mojo.

Ironhide: Bad. Mojo.

i thought there where H's in there somewhere. firefox spell check gave me something completely out of left field so i googled chiwawa thinking it'd correct me, unfortunatly it didin't so i had to go with chiuaua and it took it so... :-P i'm not the best speller in the world.

 

also, when mikeala's (told you) walking away from sam and bb, and bb kicks on "Baby Come Back" everybody in the theater cracked up. now that i think about it, they (the theater) pretty much enjoyed all of bb's meddling with their relationship.

It's a good thing Bay avoided the VW Bug. Otherwise he would have been right in that BB would have been Herbie gone Transformers.

The funny moments allowed you to sit back and breath between the action sequences.

I couldn't agree more. The humor is a huge part of what made this movie a hit (I think it is finally ok to say that it is a hit). If the entire film was one non-stop action sequence, it wouldn't be doing nearly as well and definitely wouldn't be playing as well w/ the ladies and older moviegoers.

 

I have seen it 3x (w/ a 4th coming later today I hope) and the audience reacts the same way every time to the jokes, and it is always great. Personally, the only one I would have left out entirely was the BB peeing joke and the one I would have scaled down was the TFs hiding in the backyard scene. That scene alone was 10 mins long and while it was funny, it was entirely too long. Everything else: the operator picking his nose, Frenzy's flipping the bird in Barricade, all of the songs BB played to get Mikeala, all stay b/c they are a big part of what makes this movie great.
