I strongly agree with you morbid prime, I can tell we see eye to eye. If it's officailly announced that alt is dead, oh ho, they better start pumpin out the MP a whole lot faster or they won't be seeing my business anymore. Alts and MP are all I have. :tfmad

I have zero love for my alts. I bought them (nearly all save for lame repaints) thinking WOW IT'S JUST LIKE G1 BUT FOR ME... but the toys just weren't fun. The transformations take forever, the QC was shotty at best and good ruck transforming grimlock/wheeljack without an arm or door popping off.

 

They all stay in robot mode or vehicle mode forever as room provides. But I never just pull on off of the shelf to fiddle with.

Same situation for me. I liek my Autobot Cars but not at a $45-$60 NZ price point (Deluxes are $25-$35 these days while a leader is $100+)

 

 

Smaller is the way to go, especially in the current economic climate what with oil prices being a bastard.

Alt's are unfortunately dead.

 

Titaniums are believed to be next on the chopping block and I am one of the few people still loving the Titanium line.

 

 

I'm totally with you on the Ti line MiniconFan. I love Titaniums and pray to The Great Maker they give us WW Prowl and WW Skywarp!

Yeah I agree Galzamus. They wasted too many Alts on little know characters like Camshaft, Decepticharge, rollbar and Swerve. Instead of giving us Fan Faves like Ironhide, Ratchet and Soundwave. Wierd how they think. I wish they'd do the honourable thing and "finish the line off" for us. Give us Ironhide etc, but particularly give us a MEGATRON! Ah well...

I'd say that the little known characters were chosen because they had plans to make the other guys future releases. There were also other considerations, for instance: they could never use the name "Trailbreaker" for any kind of truck/off-road vehicle because GM holds the Trailblazer trademark.

 

Here's what they should have done when they knew the end of the line was near:

 

1. black Jeep = Rollbar, but have his licence plate say TRBRK and everybody wins.

2. white Subaru emergency vehicle (BTA alert mold) = Rachet (since Rollbar came out with Ricochet, I doubt they'd pack two black Autobot cars in the same case)

3. red Scion = Ironhide (some people object to the xB, but it wasn't like Ironhide's original alt-mode was particularly bad-ass)

4. yellow Mazda RX8 = Bumblebee (a yellow Jazz head with no visor looks close enough to Bee's)

 

 

Really liked your ideas here mate. Agree with everything. Would have made far more sense.

 

Now I'm gunna course a stir here, but I'd have much preffered a new mould Soundwave, with a little Laserbeak as his engine, instead of a SECOND Ravage. Another waste IMO.
