Unhappy Transformers Fans Threatened Bay's Life

Recommended Posts

I'll bet they also threatened to "pwn" his ass too huh?

Just some geeks that are using words that are too big for their vocabulary. They've got nothing else going, so threatening someone's life seems like a reasonable thing to do.

Well.... that's the miracle of the internet; seeming anonymity breeds a remarkable amount of arrogance and bravado in individuals who would otherwise never possess the self-assurance to raise their voice in public.

Just as familiarity breeds contempt, the removal of a potential for retribution breeds actions far beyond the ken of standard behavior.

Personally, I would like to see someone trace down the IPs on Mr. Bay's threats and publish the names and addresses publicly - being publicly outed as an asshat would go a long way toward promoting civil discourse from these folks in the future.

SHAME - the ultimate anti-drug.

ghostbusters was a comedy, the stay puft marshmellow man looked the way he did for a reason. even as a kid i thought it was hilarious that everybody was just running away from this cute huge puffy white thing and i understood why it looked the way it did and why it was a comedy and not a serious movie. just name a transformers continuity that wouldn't look like CG power rangers on the big screen. EVEN ALTERNATORS WOULD LOOK LIKE A MEGAZORD. i thought the exact same way you did at first until i thought things through and watched how they moved and then looked at the rest of my tfs and tried to picture them moving that way and i just couldn't. i even went back and watched a few eps of galaxy force and even they move sorta chunky like and not very fluid at all.

:pfx 100% The Ghostbusters reference was a bad choice. Plus, In 1984, those effects kicked much ass. Although they may look a little dated today, they still hold their own IMO. Maybe people will be saying the same thing about the TF movies' effects 23 years from now. Judging from what we've seen so far, I don't think that CGI effects can get much more realistic looking. I think Bay's vision has been fully realized on the big screen.

As far as the death threats, BOO HOO. I got a death threat for accidentally bumping into a guy on the sidewalk last week. Bay should come spend some time in the Northeast.

I find this says all that needs to be said.

I also noticed how people picketed outside Bay's OLD office.

Damn, we Transformers fans arent looking particularly clever now are we?

I think you missed the point of the reference. It had nothing to do with the goodness/badness of ghostbusters or it's FX. It had to do with what giant chunky robots would look like on screen. LIKE BIG STAYPUFFED MARSHMELLOW MEN. Are we all on the same page now? Good.
